Have traveled east coast- this is the worst hotel
Started our weekend with keycards not working in old doors - heck of a time even getting into the rooms everytime we left. Went down to the pool / spa and was stopped by spa staff stating I needed to pay to get in. Let them know I was staying there for two nights but still wanted $25 - no where is it stated they charge for pool / hot tub & sauna as it usually is included with everyother hotel we have stayed at. Upon getting out of the shower at 9pm , fire alarms went off due to the shower steam - I was packing everything at this point and ready to leave at 9pm to go find another place to stay. Beds and pillows are terrible, my back hurt for 3 days. Decided before checkout we would stop by for breakfast at the restaurant, had two bites of sausage and gravy & couldn’t stomach anymore. Rock hard biscuits , gravy too oily &tasted of oyster sauce& sausage couldn’t even cut into. Spent $35 at restaurant just to throw it all away & spent $500 on two nights of the SMALLEST OPTION ROOM. I can’t even imagine how the more expensive rooms are. Absolute waste of money and time , should have booked at Evergreen hotel right down road that has great reviews. DONT WASTE UR TIME HERE ! THE COST OF EVERYTHING DOESNT MATCH THEIR QUALITY. Find somewhere else to stay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 0/10 really the worst hotel we have stayed at & we have been to HUNDREDS on the whole east coast !!!!

Good Morning. We apologize about the negative experience you had here at the Senator Inn & Spa. It is not stated that we charge for use of the pool/hut tub because as a paying hotel guest, you are not charged to use the Spa amenities. As a hotel guest, you have complimentary use of the facility. However, if you bring in guests/friends/family members that are not hotel guests, the Spa does charge a day pass fee. It is unfortunate that the fire alarm in your room went off due to the shower steam in your room, but I am glad to hear that the devices we have installed to protect our guests in the event of a real safety concern are working. The price you paid for your room as you have stated, 500.00 on a two-night stay in our smallest room, does not seem at all accurate. However, you did book your reservation through Expedia and they are known to set their own rates. Based on your review, I am not sure how we can make this right for you, but please do not hesitate to reach out to us if there is anything we could do.

The spa is lovely and a lot of fun and relaxation for young and old alike. The spa staff are super friendly. The restaurant servevs very delicious breakfast znd lunch.

We wnjoyed the stay. The room was clean and it was nice and quiet. Our room had a door to the outside and a door to the inner hall way. The spa was geeat. They have a very nice pool that doesn't wreak of clorine. We would definitely stay there again.

Sink in our sitting room leaked , furniture was really worn, our beds were "Uncomfortable", fire place was barely warm when turned on. Staff had to replace the stopper in our bath tub.

Nice hotel, friendly staff
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel was a little more dated than it appeared online but was clean and comfortable. Most everything was closed because it was Christmas. The restaurant staff was very nice, food was ok, decent prices.

A night away
The hotel was okay. I expected more just because it was a spa as well. Just like a comfort inn. Blow dryer didn't work. Needs to be updated. Did like the cute table and chairs outside the door.

The property had a beautiful spa on site, starbucks across the road, excellent customer service, delicious breakfast and lunch. Parking drive up to my room and small business centre. Unfortunate that the restaurant is no longer open for dinner. I would stay there again.

Great service only problem side parking when their are trucks parked on back part very difficult to get out of the parking spot assigned to your room. Everything else was excellent and staff so helpful

1st stay ok will return to utilize more.
There was a lot going on so it was loud with many teens running the halls. Staff was polite but also seemed overwhelmed. Room should of been cleaner and items needed upgrading. All in all it was what we needed with a good price and many additional options that we did not take advantage of. I would go back and try it again, utilizing some of the things i did not before.

Complete disappointment.
There was only 1 employee on during check-in on a Saturday evening and the hotel was completely booked. So there was a long line when we arrived and it took a long time to get checked in. The employee was pleasant and worked efficiently but there were just too many checkins for 1 person. Their queen beds are small. They refused to give us a rollaway bed. The room was clean but it badly needs repairs. The pillow was comfortable, the sheets were nice, but the bedding was thin. This is Maine in the fall, thicker blankets are necessary. We wont be staying here again. For the money we spent, there were several other options and next time we'll try one of them.
