What's nearby

  • Home of Freeman Walker, outstanding citizen of early Georgia. Born in Virginia in 1780, he came to Richmond County in his youth and studied law. Freeman Walker, in 1826, deeded 70 acres of land to the United States Government to be used as an arsenal-the site now of the Junior College of Augusta. He reserved one acre as a family burial ground, known as the Walker Cemetery. He was the father of Maj. Gen. W. H. T. Walker, CSA. Admitted to the bar in 1802, he followed a life of public service; City Attorney for three years and Mayor of Augusta 1817-19, being the first to hold the city´s chief executive office under the name of Mayor, and Brigade Inspector of Gen. Valentine Walker´s brigade in 1813. He represented Richmond County in both branches of the State Legislature and represented Georgia in the U. S. Senate. His speech on the Missouri Compromise attracted nation-wide attention. He died in 1827 and is buried in the Walker Cemetery.

Cute house that was great for our family

Lovely Home

This home is comfortable and so cute. Check in was easy and the owner very communicative. It was clean and had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here if you are going to be on Augusta, GA. It’s also about 10-15 minutes from the AU Medical center so if you need to be there for any reason, this home would be an excellent choice!

Southern Charm

This brick cottage is darling and was perfect for the two of us! The space was beautiful and tastefully decorated with simple modern charm which we prefer to clutter. Parking in back was safe and easy. We appreciate our host communication. We were in town for a wedding and this was the perfect spot to enjoy Augusta!

Pros of our stay: Great neighborhood, cozy cottage feel, firepit out back, location to nearby attractions & price was fantastic for value Cons: Beds in the home were extremely hard & springy, couch is a futon and there is nowhere to put your feet up, string lights out back over firepit didnt work

Evacuation oasis

We booked this place in order to evacuate from Savannah. It was a luck of the straw. The neighborhood is easily navigable. I took several walks with my dog and met several neighbors. We ate at some lovely restaurants and went on Ft Eisenhower for bingo night. So fun, despite the stress of leaving our home during a storm.

We were there for a medical procedure and the house was very close to the medical community. A beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood. Everything was as described, easy access to the property, and great communication from the owner. I walked our sweet fur baby and felt very safe.

Lovely house close to Augusta University

This was the perfect place to stay as I helped move my son in for college. The street is quiet and I felt safe. The home is clean and well kept. Instructions for parking and getting in and out were clear. Thanks for a great stay!

Evacuation paradise

Had to evacuate for a storm and found the perfect last minute (and I mean last minute) escape for a man and his dog. Quick easy booking , clear communication, quaint and cozy oasis.
