The park even has a really cool summer program where you can feed hummingbirds from your hand! You hold a vial of sugar water at arm's length and from out of nowhere the hummingbirds start appearing! If you're steady and patient, they'll begin to feed right in front of you!

Great friends getaway!

We have 6 couples who have grown up together and still hang out together to this day. We get away for a long weekend to relax and tell stories of all our grandchildren and enjoy each others company. This place fit the bill perfectly. Enough room for everyone to feel comfortable and cozy enough to help us all relax. Lived the cabin and the property. Hosts were exceptional!!!

Mesa Vista was an amazing stay! This property is stunning and a perfect place for any family/friends get together. Its huge inside with plenty of bedrooms and space on the wrap-around deck for everyone. It also has a nice volleyball net. The pond has a nice dock with benches to relax, fish, kayak, and they had a paddle boat! They had a hottub that was a good size and worked well. It was stocked with everything you need to cook or utilize in the kitchen. Service was of course spotty due to being pretty far out but it was only 20 minutes to the Hocking Hills winery and Hocking Hills adventures watersports. The host, Cathy, was very responsive and helpful. We would absolutely book here again for our next family get together!

Perfect family retreat spot

This rental met or exceeded all of our expectations. The house was very clean and in excellent condition. The outdoors was beautiful. Communication with the host was great. Absolutely no complaints at all.

Hocking Hills Mesa Lodge

Overall very good. Unfortuneately the remnants of hurricane/tropical storm Helene knocked out the power shortly before our arrival, something the property owners had no control off. There were plenty of emergency lights and the propane cook top worked so we were able to prepare most of our food. The owners hooked up a generator that powered the 110V outlets and shut it off when the power was restored. Great place for a large group (10 - 20 people) that don't mind preparing their own meals (a little far to drive into the nearest town).

Excellent Location and Property, but even better owners!

Cathy and Steve were incredibly responsive and we had an excellent stay. The property was clean and well-maintained. There were a ton of activities for our large group. Would highly recommend this property!!

Family Reunion

We gathered for a family reunion(ages 1-84)....It was a great property!! Lots of room, clean, well stocked. Nice large table allowing for the group to eat together. New ice/water machine was awesome. Comfortable beds. Easy to communicate with owners and very helpful. Had somethig for everyone-pond with paddle boat and fishing, big yard toys, vollleyball, Hot tub, nice rocking chairs on front porch, firepit. Wide open grassy space and several paths throughout property. Even had some kids toys, highchair and gates. It was about 20mins from Ash cave, Cedar Falls Hike and 25mins to the Hockinghills visitor center. Would definitely stay again.

Happy Hocking

Cathy has arranged, from what I've been stayed in, the single best property for larger groups in Hocking Hills. Very spacious without being empty, very well decorated without being cluttered, all of the cabin feel without the smell of pine on your clothes weeks later. Cathy herself was a treat as well. She was kind of enough to introduce herself when we checked in and went above and beyond to stop by each day to make sure the hot tub's chemical levels were in balance. This was our last time going to Hocking Hills, but this was the place to go out on!

READ BEFORE BOOKING

The property itself and the surrounding area is lovely. However, there are several red flags. 1) The owner tried to charge us $450 after our stay for "damages" incurred during our weekend. One of those "damages" was a cigarette burn and she said she found cigarette butts in the ashtray.... but absolutely no one in my group is a smoker and/or has ever smoked. She would not remove the charge even when I told her this. 2) There are more rules than I have ever encountered in any VRBO; these rules were not available to me until after I had paid for the nonrefundable stay. I.e. your internet is limited to 20 GB for your ENTIRE stay (which is basically unheard of in this day of unlimited wifi) and if you go over, she charges you for every GB. Other rules include you can't move any of the furniture, you can't use any candles other than tea lights she provides, and you can't use an excessive amount of ice (or you will be charged). TLDR: Despite the beauty of the house and the surroundings, the stay is probably not worth the headache in trying to fight erroneous charges and worry about the many rules.

Perfect accommodations

The Mesa Vista lodge was a perfect location for our large family to gather. Plenty of room for group activities and space to spread out. The beds were comfortable and the location is a peaceful oasis. We enjoyed the oversized dining table.
