We stayed 2 nights there with our 2.5 years old. Bed was ok. Swimming pool temperature was lovely and facilities was reasonably clean but I guess as the building is so old, they don't have any life guards and no staff on duty in the pool area. Breakfast wasn't great, food and drinks quality are quite poor. On the second day there was hardly any food left, apparently there was a big group there before we were there but would have expected they topped up the food quicker. Regardless the food was surprisingly tasteless and poor coffee for a hotel like this. Hope they can improve this as it could be a very nice hotel otherwise.

Good value for money
Nice hotel! Staff could check us in whenever and was very helpful. Rooms were nice and we had no complaints.

Hotel was very tired, damp spots in corridors and peeling or damaged paint everywhere. Walls very thin so could hear our neighbours snoring and engaging in intimate moments. Wine was expensive and very poor probably worth £4 but priced at £28. Very disappointing.

Lovely countryside location yet convenient for road networks. Warm and cosy room, spotlessly clean, large TV, modern bathroom, new bed and comfy pillows. Indoor pool, sauna and gym a bonus. All at a very reasonable price

Very disappointing stay. Bar area very untidy, tables all still had plates and empty glasses on them late into the evening. Tables therefore not clean Breakfast self service, not great and paper cups for tea and coffee. For a Hilton Hotel really not good

Better than the reviews suggested !
I read the reviews which highlighted some areas of concern but I booked because Richard the manager had taken the time to respond honestly. It was a good stay. The indoor pool was warm, the outdoor pool had seating, restaurant food was good. Yes, the building needs the planned work but there was plenty of space and a chilled atmosphere. We will be going back.

The hotel does look a bit tired and showing its age on the outside but inside the room we had was good. Pillows a bit too soft for us but that is a minor point. A bit noisy in the morning when the green keepers were tending the golf course which was right outside our window. A great location for local sights. The spa area is very small but OK if you go when kids are not allowed in. The outside areas are great for kids with lots of space to play and an outside pool if the weather permits. Overall a very good place and we will be back.
