LAKEMONT PINES INVITING CABIN - DOG FRIENDLY -
Lakemont Cottage: The perfect cabin to relax and warm-up after a long day of skiing or hiking. Only a 5 minute walk to the private Lakemont Pines Lake. The cabin is less than 200 feet to the base of the Stanislaus National Forest, and the newly established ART (Arnold Rim Trail), with over 20 miles of excellent hiking and exploring. The private Lakemont Pines Lake is OPEN, has a sandy beach area, lifeguard, kayaks, playground, pedal boats, horseshoes, and events in summer for children. You can bring your own kayaks or SUP's, borrow them from "The Stuff Shed" at the lake, during the summers, or rent them at the SNAC Store in Arnold, which is a short 1/2 mile away.
2 Bedroom, 1 Bath, 1000 sq. ft. - Charming, clean, light and peaceful. Cabin is newly furnished with a Zen-like feel. Located on a beautiful, wooded lot in the much desired Lakemont Pines area of Arnold. This is an excellent location for hiking, snowshoeing and relaxing in nature.
Cabin has 2 bedrooms with queen beds (one bedroom has a queen bed with a twin bed in the loft area), as well as a sofa an a double futon in living room. Cabin includes WIFI, cable TV in Living Room, DVD player, and all kitchen amenities. There are plenty of games and puzzles for fun and relaxation. We have continued to ask guests to bring their own bath towels (which we implemented during covid). We have not raised our rates for a decade, and it is one way we have kept our rates low. (There are plenty of blankets, comforters, kitchen towels!). The cabin is THOROUGHLY sanitized before each guest checks in.
Cabin has 2 decks overlooking our private wooded lot, complete with patio furniture and a gas BBQ. There is a parklike setting in the rear of the cabin, where there is a table, chairs and umbrella, as well as two adironadack chairs by the stream, when running. Cabin is equipped with a wall furnace, NEW electric heaters in bedrooms and bathroom, and a NEW gas fireplace in living room, surrounded by a river rock hearth.

Great little house in our favorite neighborhood. I was a bit worried about not having AC, but it is so shaded that it was beautifully cool all day! The backyard is just a beautiful, peaceful treed space, and it is right next to the Arnold Rim Trail, which was perfect for morning hikes. I would note for those booking that there is no washer/dryer. They are not listed as amenities (so nothing was incorrect or wrong!), but I did not specifically check, as most places have them. Our stay was short enough that it was not an issue, but just a note to those staying a while (which I would love to do!)Beverly was great, and I hope to be back!
What a wonderful winter stay! The house was extremely clean and comfortable, and located in a beautiful quiet area. The best part was how close it is to the Arnold Ridge Trail (literally a stone's throw from the front door). We loved taking early morning walks through the grasslands and woods with our doggies. Highly recommend!
This cozy home is centrally located allowing for easy access to hiking, wine tasting, restaurants, and other adventures. Having a grill is a big plus as well.
Great place for a family to stay. It's a good base camp for activities up the mountain as well as closer to Arnold. Only complaint is there isn't any dishwasher!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin over the New Year! We played countless board games next to the fire, and did many hikes on the nearby ART. The cabin was cozy, and cleaned.
This cabin is very nice, with two decks and nearby a hiking path. Also very convenient to the private lake, which is perfect for a family with young children.
We absolutely love this location, and Beverley is such an accomodating host. My wife and I have been coming here for years and we love it! The location is perfect, especially being located adjacent to an amazing trail entrance. We will definitely be booking again as soon as we can.
We enjoyed our Christmas time visit to Arnold & our stay at the Lakemont cabin. It was cozy, warm & comfortable. I highly recommend this cozy cabin in the woods the next time you come to Arnold.
Beverly's Lakemont Pines cabin was perfect for our family of four's winter getaway. We all loved the wood burning stove and location by the lake. The communication and support Beverly provided was fantastic. We will definitely look to go back.
Our family stayed 3 nights and it was such a great place to stay. We came with our dog and 2 kids, ages 5 & 8. The kitchen had everything we needed, there were plenty of blankets, the fireplace was cozy, and the yard was perfect for the kids to explore. We loved the location! It was a quick drive up the mountain to take the kids sledding and we visited the big trees state park nearby. Highly recommend!
Everything was perfect about this trip. A lot of rest, hiking, eating, and quiet. We loved the house with the beautiful decks, well stocked kitchen, comfy bed, cozy living room and it was pet friendly so our golden could be part of the adventure. Beverley was a gracious and kind host. We will definitely return!
Had a lovely stay last weekend. The cabin was equipped with all the necessary amenities for the rooms, kitchen, some board games and with a backyard into the woods which was super gorgeous.Beverly was an amazing host, quick to respond and quick to help and super nice to talk to.Thank you so much.
Cabin had everything we needed--well stocked kitchen, cozy heater and woodstove, multiple decks, nearby trails for hiking, AND a private lake just a little ways down the road. What's not to like?
Host Beverley was warm and welcoming and responded quickly to questions.
My husband and I stayed here on an anniversary get-away with our small dog. Very comfortable home with a well appointed kitchen. Very close to the Arnold Rim Trail and super close to Arnold and its amenities. Would love to return.
Celebrating our sisters birthday, enjoyed the natural setting , fire on a cold rainy night followed by a hike the next day. Beverly was great to communicate with.
The house is close to the snow line meaning there was some snow but not so much that driving/parking/walking was precarious. There's a nice open kitchen/family room so we all played games together instead of the kids (18/19 teens) hanging out separately. And the pup appreciated not only the bear valley snow but walking the Arnold Rim Trail close to home. It's an easy drive to bear valley -- we skied each day.
We booked the cabin for a quick getaway weekend for our family of 3 plus dog (lab). The house was immaculate, well stocked, and had updated appliances. Bonus for gas stove…woo woo. Just the right size for our crew and great location for easy out the door things (swimming, paddling and hiking the Rim Trail.) Close by car to lots of wonderful things. Communication with the host Beverley was excellent! We appreciated the flexible checkin and out. Really nice. Would definitely stay again.
My family and I stayed at the cabin for 4 days during my daughter's winter break. It had everything we needed to manage the little ones, cook, relax, and have fun.
There are many forest roads about 100 yards away for a morning hike. The local grocery was very close and convenient.
The space is nice for a family with little ones. There was a creek running behind the cabin that the kids enjoyed walking down and there was a private lake with a playground that we got to explore.
Lovely cabin in the woods. Extremely clean, has everything you need. Close to restaurants and a couple of grocery stores. Hiking trails walking distance from the cabin, a private lake for owners and guests. Best part of Arnold for me is the Calaveras Big Trees State Park. I go all the time, but it was so nice being so close. I'd absolutely stay here again and bring my family next time. Hostess, Beverley, is a wonderful and compassionate person. Very kind hearted. Ill never forget my week long trip.
