"My "Solitude" stay at Helene's property was wonderful. Very quiet and private; birds singing and a breeze blowing the giant trees made it magical. The photos don't do justice to this space. It's large, beautiful and new with many modern fixtures & features and few rules. The kitchen is full featured and immaculate. The property is only a few minutes from Turkey Point and not far from Port Dover (and Frisky Beaver Winery is on the way) Walkable to Lake Erie. A basic market (with wine & beer) is close by. Helene's home property is adjacent and beautifully landscaped. Will return!"

"Petra met us as we came up the stairs to bunkie from street level. And she was a lovely host Great view, ideal for a single night stop over in Port Dover. Swim pretty much right from her waterfront deck, shared (with host). Outdoor shower is heated. And is semi private. Bring your own shower soaps. Bathroom is not in bunkie, but down a set of outdoor stairs. Toilet and sink. And also has a closet area through bathroom with small fridge, kettle, keurig, two mugs and a set of bowls. Coffee cups were provided. Some things that could be improved: We had to make our bed which was annoying because we were hot and tired from our 65km bike ride getting here. The duvets didn't have covers. No a/c. Windows open for breeze and ceiling fan. No lock on bunkie. It was comfortable and clean once settled. If you have trouble with stairs this would not be a good option."

"I couldn’t get the tv to go to just regular channels. There needs to be an explanation as to how it works so that people like me who are technologically challenged can use it. It also said to get in touch with front desk if any issues but there is nothing on the phone to let you do that so you have to get dressed and actually go to the front desk"

"We enjoyed our time at the cottage. Pros - It was a really short walk to the beach. It seemed like a really new kitchen and recent bathroom update, nice flooring, even a new toaster and coffee maker. The host Richard was very responsive and nice. Very close to a busy restaurant, a good one though, so that might be considered both a pro and a con. Truth is I spent most of my time enjoying the beach, and it was lovely and quiet this time of year. Everyone we met, including the neighbours on both sides, were super nice. Cons-no screen on the patio doors and the deck was kind of rough. No fan in the bathroom and window won't open and no curtains on the entrance door or kitchen windows..felt a bit exposed. Also, the cleaning was certainly not impeccable, not gross, but not that thorough. As someone who has been doing commercial cleaning for a decade, I saw several opportunities for improvement. All of that being said, I would consider renting it again in the future."
