Great quiet place located in village in the country

Hosts were very friendly and welcoming caring about our comfort. This is an old farm house that the host inherited. The host made many updates and additions still keeping the feeling of the original house. There are so many plus at this place: great swimming pool, inside court with bbq, 2 other terraces with great views, laundry machine, outside shower for swimming pool, updated bathroom, full big kitchen, decorated as personal home, very large home and private. Steps from heart of the village with local cafes. Wonderful wonderful place. Thankful that the owners were sharing it with us!

Don't miss this hidden gem nestled into the mountains. Magnificently maintained home with spectacular views of the sea from both the house and the pool. The pool....absolutely fabulous!

Uncomfortable pallet style hard beds. The advertised 2nd bathroom was outside. No advertised greeting snacks (fruit, bread, cheese). "Farm house" was in the village attached to other buildings. Owner was sweet.

Lovely Off The Grid Getaway

The property, host and location are all absolutely fantastic! The neighborhood cats and dogs were a bonus too. We original booked the home for over two weeks, however had issues with getting secure internet. The host was beyond accommodating and did everything he could do try to fix the issue.

Utterly charming farmhouse, sympathetically restored with a fabulous infinity pool

Kostas is a wonderful host and shared the history of the house, that has been in his family for generations, and of the village. His restoration of the house has been done beautifully and this was a great choice to stay in four our first holiday for a couple of years. The village is unspoilt with a charming atmosphere and we got a friendly reception everywhere. The roads to the village are all good and an easy drive down to the beaches and towns on the coast. Highly recommended.

I was searching for a little house with a pool for my single holiday. With this property I have found the perfect vacation home. It´s very cosy and it looks exactly like the photos. I had a very warm welcome from Kostas and his employee. I will return with my family and friends sometime.

Traumurlaub

We (two adults and two children) spent two really great weeks here. We were warmly welcomed by Costas, who has a lot to tell about the story of the house. If there are any problems during your stay, Costas or his cousin Pedro (who lives in Kefalas and also rents holiday apartments there) are always available and will take care of you. The house is really very nice. Lovingly decorated and clean. The view of the sea is wonderful. A special highlight is the pool from which you also have a great view of the sea and the bay of Rethymnon. In the village itself there are two mini-markets that can be easily reached on foot and are open until late every day. There are also three taverns. So you are well looked after. There is no sandy beach in the immediate vicinity of Kefalas, but you can be in a beautiful small bay (Omprogialos) in 5 minutes by car, where you can swim from a stone platform. Tip: after 7 p.m. we were almost always there alone. If you want to escape the tranquility of the village, a trip to Chania or Rethymnon is worthwhile. If you want to take an unconventional boat tour, Costa's cousin Pedro is in very good hands. It was really a great experience for our boys (11 and 13). He drives with his guests to a few bays and caves that can only be reached from the water. In between, there is always a stop and you have the opportunity to swim or snorkel from the boat. Really interesting to recommend us very much. We have been to Crete for the second time and the impression of our first trip was more than confirmed: the Cretans are simply incredibly hospitable people. We felt very, very comfortable.
