I had a wonderful stay at Meitetsu Inn Chita Handa Ekimae. While this is not a luxury hotel, it provides everything that really matters for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and does so exceptionally well. Walkable (via outside) distance from the airport. They have a special check-in and check-out machines at the front desk to prevent the virus contact, and an English-speaking staff helped me using the machine. Cozy room with a card key. One unhappy thing (not related directly to the hotel) was that the cashier at the convenience store (FamilyMart) on the ground floor of the hotel's property—I encountered two young girl as a cashier at different time, and both of them didn't speak English at all....

If you like Japan this hotel should be on your bucket list. Located right on the beach in Minamichita and within walking distance to several nice restaurants. Our room had a spectacular sea view. We had dinner at the Seaside Capri restaurant next door. The waiter had an Ipad with a picture menu for us. Being a typical Japanese Ryokan you change into a yukata.
