During my stay, there was a citywide taxi strike—information that was never communicated to us at any point by the hotel. As international visitors, this was not a minor detail; it directly impacted how safely we could move around the city. Unaware of any alternatives, we relied on crowded public transportation, where I was subsequently the victim of a robbery. While I understand the hotel is not responsible for the crime itself, the situation could have been avoided had we been properly informed. I later learned the hotel offers private transfer services, yet this option was never presented to us—especially critical during a taxi strike when safer, controlled transportation should have been proactively communicated. After the incident, I called the hotel from the police station in a distressed state seeking assistance. Despite being approximately 10 minutes away, I was told I would need to walk 20 minutes to a pickup location and wait up to two hours for a scheduled transfer—something that had never been explained during my stay. Only after expressing significant distress was I offered an immediate pickup for an additional €45. This response demonstrated a lack of urgency, empathy, and basic duty of care in a moment involving guest safety."
