About this property
Maple Season Basecamp: 3 mi to Magic, Paved Road Access
Spring is Vermont’s sweetest secret. Mud season brings maple sugaring, quiet scenic drives, and peaceful days in the countryside. Our location on a main paved road makes spring travel easy, and the property is a perfect place to unwind, explore, and reset before summer.
Come enjoy our historic farmhouse (circa 1810) set on 12+ private acres near Chester and Londonderry. Listed on the Vermont Historic Register, the home has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, comfortably sleeping up to 10 guests. The house is newly painted, carpeted, and furnished for a fresh, comfortable stay.
Guests are welcome to explore the farm, including apple trees, blueberries, wild blackberries, and a beautiful stream. Wildlife sightings are common, including deer, foxes, wild turkeys, and the occasional moose.
We’re also close to classic Vermont towns with dining, breweries, shopping, antiquing, and local attractions: Londonderry, Chester, Weston (home of the Vermont Country Store), Springfield, Ludlow, and more, all within about 25 minutes. (More local recommendations provided on site.)
Magic Mountain is only 3 miles away, and Lowell Lake State Park is nearby for fishing and recreation. Looking ahead to summer, this is a great basecamp for hiking, lake days, and exploring the Green Mountains.

We had a great stay at Marie Hill Farm. The farm house was as advertised with plenty of space and comfortable. Close access to Magic and Okemo. The kids loved playing in the outdoor fort! Kristen was super easy to work with. Would book again and recommend!
We had a great time at the Marie Hill Farm! The cozy home was set against the backdrop of beautiful rural Vermont. We got to cozy in during two days of snowstorms, spend time with family, and just enjoy the atmosphere. The owners were so kind and responsive. I’d love to stay in the summer and check out those blueberry fields!!
Our extended family had a wonderful time at Marie Hill! The listing is accurate and the house has a comfortable feel. We had plenty of room for a group of nine. The kids loved running around the property. Communication was great with the property manager. She was great to suggest local places to visit and eat.
We look forward to returning!
We stayed here for a ski weekend and the house is 4 minutes from Magic Mountain. It is very conveniently located. The price was so good for a house that could fit this many people that it is worth it even if the drive is a little further to other nearby attractions like Bromley and Stratton ski resorts.
The beds were very comfortable and the vibe of the whole house was very homey. We only stayed 2 nights but felt right at home. Everyone slept well.
The house itself is from the 1820's and is incredible to explore the property.
Kristen is as good of a host there is on VRBO. Pleasant, professional and excellent communication.
Thank you so much Kristen for your warm hospitality. We will definitely be in touch next ski season.
We enjoyed our stay. The host was very easy to communicate with and the house was clean and roomy . The beds were very cozy and comfortable. We did not go there to ski hence the reason for 1 star.
We had a wonderful ski weekend with our family and the accommodations were excellent.

The property and house were beautiful. Very spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Kristen was very responsive and lovely to have met when we arrived. Great location and easy to find. Hope to be able to stay here again in the future!
We stayed for 5 wonderful days at the farm and loved our experience. Kristen the property manager was extremely reponsive. My friends and I recommended this place to stay. We will come back
My stay at Marie Hill Farm was only 2 nights, but I could have stayed a week. The house was so clean and welcoming. Modern comforts but still kept the unbelievable old charm of the home. The king bed was super comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, knives that were actually sharp and beautiful dishwear. Nice touches such as full size shampoo, conditioner, soap and a full canister of coffee made it all the more feel like home. Very quick to get a response on any questions I had. I spent a lot of time on the breezy porch on the swing and in the backyard using the fire pit and very nice gas grill. The property was great to explore. Once I navigated to the stream, my black lab loved running in and out of the water. I even got to see a moose and her newborn baby running through the neighboring property!! What a treat that was!! It was closer to a busy road than I had envisioned, but honestly after a few hours I didn’t even notice. It just meant there was more to explore in the back. Also checked out Lowell Lake State Park which was so beautiful (don’t use GPS, just go to Lowell Lake Rd 2 miles away). I will definitely look to stay again. Great home. Great area.
We got a little lost finding the place at first but that has more to do with the fact that we were arriving late at night and had trouble with cell service. Once we arrived, it was wonderful. Great area and place to stay. Would definitely return.
This modernized yet traditional VT farmhouse has all the requirements for a family vacation. The kitchen is well equipped and it is a very pleasant 5 mile drive to the well stocked and. friendly Londonderry Village Market. We enjoyed walks and picnics at nearby Lowell Lake and there are seemingly endless backroads to explore. It's not far to the attractions of Bromley Mountain or the special shopping in Weston or Manchester. At any time of the day the swing on the front porch says "vacation"!
Marie Hill Farm was a lovely home for our getaway to Vermont. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, which accommodated our party of 6--although you could easily have 8 or 9 people and still make it work. The property manager (Kristen) was very responsive and we had no issues during our stay. The property was nice with fresh blueberries and raspberries for picking and a lot of space for our dog (it is a dog-friendly rental!) to run around. The firepit and grill were wonderful and the inclusion of things like towels, sheets, soap/shampoo, etc. made everything easier. It's an old house, so the doors and windows can be challenging and the amount of outlets or light in a room is often limited. The area is quaint and Lowell Lake is less than 10 min away, but most other places are a bit of a drive (note: we came in the summer, so it wasn't ski season). The house is right on route 11, but GPS might get confused. The sign on rt 11 definitely helped us. All and all, I'd recommend Marie Hill Farm for a relaxing chill-cation in VT.
The property manager was wonderful and very communicative. The location was amazing to hit the slopes at Okemo and Magic Mountain. Overall we had a great family getaway and had plenty of space in this cozy farm house.
My teenage children and I loved our 3-night stay at this historic farmhouse -- a great location near ski areas and a beautiful, relaxing spot to return to at the end of the day. It was bitter cold out but the comforters on the beds kept us very warm all night long. Nice to have a pet-friendly place to spend the weekend.
