The lovely town square in the tiny village of Chacao. Although Chacao had grand origins - it was founded in 1567 by Spanish conquistadores - today it's little more than a sleepy ferry terminus for mainland access to Chiloé Island.
Although the Chiloé Archipelago is known for it's 18th and 19th century native timber churches (16 of them are UNESCO World Heritage Sites), this particular church is not on the list and isn't quite as iconic. However, it still dates from 1710, and I felt that the metal sheeting nailed to the exterior made it eccentric enough for a photo. #Architecture
