Never cleaned our room. Very noisy room by elevator, could hear people buying drinking in the vending machine. Some doors slammed shut instead of gliding closed behind you.

Room had a strange odor. Tub drained extremely slowly. AC unit made lots of noise and caused us to loose sleep. Electrical outlet on nightstand didn’t work so cell phone and watch didn’t charge. No bowls for cereal. No real creamer, just coffee mate.

Bathroom issues

Our room had an odd smell. Went into the bathroom and the bathtub/shower was moldy and chipped. Looking up, the ceiling had clearly leaked and there were large brown spots. Immediately requested a new room and staff were very accommodating. New room was much better. Clearly renovated but shower still had mold spots at the bottom.

The stay and room was good. The elevator on the left side of the hotel by the laundry room closes really fast. My husband was pushing out a luggage cart and my 2 year old was walked out of the elevator when the door closed and scraped his foot. Not sure if it’s supposed to close as you’re walking out but something to watch out for

NO AC

On a very hot and humid day in Ames the AC was broken in our room. The desk gave us a box fan because we could not be moved due to a full house. We were told that they could not make restitution for the problem. It has to be Expedia. Here is you chance Expedia. We really should not have paid full price for a room without AC.

I chose not to have my card charged before I went because my mother was going to pay for her own room. They charged my card 2 weeks prior to our stay anyways. I was told I would get a refund when I checked in. A week later and still no refund issued to my card and my mothers card was also charged for her room. I also was told they put a hold of 35.00 for incidentals on my card and was charged that amount 3xs not just once. And those still haven’t came off our card. The property was very run down. We didn’t have light bulbs in our lamps (they did get us some), outlets in the bathroom didn’t work, our secondary door lock didn’t work. Super bright lights in the hallways and a window in the room facing the hallways made for a really bright night. The beds were however pretty comfy. However the hotel is no where near campus like it claims to be.

The hotel staff was nice, breakfast was good. However, it smelled like cat urine in the hallway. There are bed bugs in the bed in our room. We won’t be staying here again.
