2. Little Thistle luxury Highland apartment

Inverness

"Little Thistle was an amazing property in the highlands. You can’t beat the view! The location is good though Google Maps likes to confuse the road entrance with the one next to it. You’ll want to drive a bit slow up the drive as it is gravel and bumpy. Once you arrive, take in the scenery!! Just gorgeous!!! "Lovely, well equipped, cosy little apartment ideally located for activities on Loch Ness and beautiful walks in a variety of terrain and easy reach of Fort Augustus and Inverness, some right from the doorstep. Lots of nice welcoming touches and the owners responded quickly to request for information. Good shower over the deep bath but it’s a bit slippery and a couple of grab rails and a non slip mat would improve safety for those with mobility issues wanting to immerse themselves in a soothing...

Top Alltsigh Hotel Reviews

Lock Chambers Caledonian Canal Centre

10/10 Excellent

"Absolutely would recommend this place. Check in information was great and very easy. We were travelling by bike and they let us access the secure bike storage early so we could enjoy the town without worrying about them. The room was spacious and spotless and the shower was brilliant. Hamish from housekeeping was very friendly and kind to our daughter as we were leaving. Breakfast in the cafe downstairs was very nice too. Great view of the canal locks and close to all the amenities of Fort Augustus. And run by Scottish Canals, a charity. Nothing bad to say about this place!"

The Cnoc Hotel

8/10 Good

"The owner Duncan is a lovely host, made us very welcome and cooked us a great meal the night we stayed. Nothing was too much trouble. The room we stayed in was ok but needs upgrading. The bath had a shower head but no screen so we couldn’t have a proper shower. There was also a large collection of hair on the bathroom floor. The hotel itself is charming with lots of personal touches and you could spend hours just looking round. We really did enjoy our stay but think it only fair share our views. Would we return - yes we would!"

The Highland Club

10/10 Excellent

"First off, this is not a hotel, it's lots of apartments. There are no onsite Highland Club restaurants, room service food or anything like it. The apartments are full on, proper homes with kitchens so bring some food, even if it's just basic stuff. For food shopping and eateries you can walk into the town in a few minutes and get something to eat. The pub (The Lock Inn) was pretty good. There is a restaurant in the grounds of the house which provided food which was edible but you wouldn't rush back in a hurry. As for the Highland Club, it's beautiful. Everything was built and is maintained to the highest standard. The pool is warm and clean. The grounds of the property are extensive and beautiful. The Internet is fast and reliable, the onsite staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. So, if you're looking for a traditional hotel, think twice before booking. If you're wanting to stay somewhere with all the historical character combined with comfort and cleanliness then do book."
