Nearby, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science has dinosaur skeletons, while the Albuquerque Museum displays Southwestern art.

Terrific Space
My Husband and I were traveling through NM and after researching the usual cool hip places in Albuquerque I came across the Desert Compass. I was slightly intimidated at first wondering will us old folks (60s) fit in with a hip crowd (the instagram pictures are quite delicious) and they live up to their image. And, there was no need to worry...the space makes all worries disappear and the awesome tub doesn't hurt.
Everything is nice and super tasteful. The grounds with the Cowboy pool are lovely and cool under your feet. The focus on local artists, goods, and homewares is a conscious lovely homey touch. I could goooo on .... but rather you should visit yourself. Quiet tasteful Hospitality. Cheers!

perfect
Hosts were super accommodating and great at communicating. We LOVED this spot seriously so relaxing. Very Private. The Saltillo flooring all over felt so good on your feet. The bath tub is huge. Everything is so curated but still extremely comfortable. You can walk to so many things but we mostly just stayed inside and chilled hard. Every streaming service you could possibly want. Two amazingly comfortable beds that you can watch tv from perfectly. I would recommend this stay to everyone. We booked the coyote suite and it is 100 worth the price. I will stay here again hopefully for more than one night next time.

Great stay
The suite was quirky but wonderful. Perfectly clean, comfy beds. We used and enjoyed the private garden area. We even used the record player - listening to Elvis and The Outlaws fit the mood of the place perfectly! Convenient to Old Town and the Sawmill area.

The most whimsical and relaxing stay
My husband and I did a staycation here in the Coyote Suite for our anniversary and it was beyond expectations. The decor is beautiful and so well thought out. The space is perfect. No detail was left out. We had a wonderful time relaxing in the private court yard and the shared grounds are beautiful also. It is also across the street from a big park, museums and old town. We felt like we were on a vacation in our own town. Book it, you won’t regret it. Can’t wait to come back again!

Dream come true!
I have been following the desert compass on social media for a while and always wanted to come. We decided to come to New Mexico for our honeymoon just so we could stay here and I couldn’t the more excited. It was perfect. The space. The surrounding area. The staff. 100% recommend this for your destination to ABQ. The coyote suite was perfect for privacy. The Art by Chelsy Spicer MADE the space, it was all amazing.

Perfect down to every detail
The coyote suite was amazing. The art and decor were gorgeous and quality. The beds were comfortable and had different pillow options which we loved (my bf like firm but I prefer soft and they had both!)
Easy to follow instructions on getting there.
The neighbor is a gem. So many amazing walkable food, shops, and thing to do. I highly recommend checking out Saw Mill Market.
