Though the hotel was built in 1979 but still the hotel has charm to stay and enjoy this historical building. Room with balcony was great. Breakfast was excellent with lot of variety and options. Enjoyed the outdoor dining at breakfast and dinner.

I loved this hotel. Seeing the pictures of Sheikh Zayed receiving other world leaders in this hotel gives you a sense of elegance. The rooms are clean, spacious, and has all needed amenities. The staff are nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet is rich and diverse and very delicious. I strongly recommend it.

We stayed here before the refurbishment (pre COVID) and we were keen to see how the hotel might have changed. What was the same was the excellent friendly service and staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Likewise the room was clean and well equipped. The pool area has changed a lot and we missed the old water cannon and the thermal aqua therapy spa, but the pool staff were extremely good, in particular Sandeep who helped us settle into our loungers ever morning. It's still a lovely place to stay in Abu Dhabi and offers exceptional value for the price.

The hotel is a little dated especially rooms and passage ways to rooms. But communal areas are great. Biggest highlight is the staff. They are amazing - every single one of them. Can’t do more for you. Food choices are fantastic. We stayed on a B&B basis. Breakfast was outstanding - everything on offer and a highlight was the smoothy station. There are restaurants on site. A Lebanese, a British pub and an Italian (though the Italian wasn’t open for the duration of our stay). They also have a fantastic steak place called the 49ers. We ate in all except the Italian and the food was delicious. The staff at the room from waiters to lifeguards are so special. They can’t do more for you. We loved our stay there. You can walk to two malls, a supermarket is across the road and it is a great location to get to Corniche, Yas Island, Saadiyat Island. Only 20-25 mins from the airport. Easy to get anywhere but with a cab which are cheap.

This was my first time staying here, am a frequent solo traveler. The place has a lot of heritage attached to it being one of the first chain hotels that opened in Abu Dhabi. Queen Elizabeth stayed here as well as a big list of historical famous figures. You can consider it kind of a boutique hotel. Check in was quick and smooth. I did request another room though as the room I was given had a view of an AC chiller on the roof and nothing else. Since am staying for 6 nights I couldn’t accept that and they changed my room but I had to wait for around 30 minutes New room has an amazing view of the pool and was very nice. The hotel building is generally old, so when it rained, the rain was leaking through the window and made the room carpet wet. I informed the front desk about it to see if they can do something to help dry it but unfortunately they didn’t do anything about it and by the day I was checking out the carpet was already smelly. The AC as well got very uncomfortable with high levels of humidity in the room after the rain , again asked the front desk to check it as I was leaving for the day. Not sure if they actually did something about it or not but it didn’t get any better. Beds are comfortable but some of the bedsheets are aged and you can see parts where they worn out a bit. Pool and beach facilities are amazing and the staff were the best part of the experience

The balcony room was a nice bonus. The pool and beach area were a highlight, so relaxing. It's probably worth noting the pool has no shade from the sun. (The children's pool does) We had club rooms, and the lounge has some room for improvement, the lounge is compact for the number of guests and the staff barely aknowledged us (apart from one nice young man - who's name I wish I'd noted). They were however open great hours and everything tasted nice, although it wasn't replenished well or quickly. I would stay here again. Hotel is in a great location with lots around it.
