About this property
The Tabernacle, Converted Chapel with Hot Tub
Introducing The Tabernacle by Highland Spaces located in Aberfeldy. A beautifully restored historic chapel, thoughtfully reimagined as an extraordinary luxury retreat in the heart of Highland Perthshire. Combining dramatic original architecture with contemporary comfort and carefully considered interiors, The Tabernacle offers privacy, tranquillity and a truly unique Scottish Highlands experience.
Perched on a hillside overlooking the spectacular Tay Valley, the chapel's magnificent floor-to-ceiling altar windows flood the open-plan living space with natural light, framing panoramic views across the surrounding countryside. An oversized wood-burning stove creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, making The Tabernacle a wonderful escape in every season.
The building's remarkable history is central to its character. Originally known as the Mary of Mercy Church, the chapel once stood in Aberfeldy before being carefully dismantled, stored and eventually re-erected in its present hillside setting in 2008. Its restoration has been a true labour of love, preserving the character and architectural beauty of this historic building while transforming it into a distinctive, design-led Highland retreat.
Outside, your private outdoor hot tub enjoys an elevated position overlooking the Tay Valley, offering exceptional privacy and uninterrupted countryside views. Whether you're soaking beneath the stars, watching the changing light across the hills or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, this is a place to slow down and reconnect with nature.
The charming market town of Aberfeldy, Scotland's first Fairtrade town, is a short drive away, offering independent shops, cafés, restaurants and cultural attractions. Nearby Loch Tay provides opportunities for wild swimming, kayaking and exploring the beautiful Highland scenery, while Glen Lyon offers some of Scotland's most breathtaking walking routes and unspoilt landscapes.
Perfect for romantic escapes, special occasions, peaceful countryside holidays or simply spending quality time together, The Tabernacle accommodates up to four guests and offers an unforgettable setting in the Scottish Highlands.
Your hosts are always happy to share local knowledge, favourite walks and recommendations to help you make the most of your stay.
The nearest railway station is Pitlochry, approximately 40 minutes away by car. A car is recommended for exploring the surrounding countryside.
