"Large hotel in Douglas Co Cork. It was busy with social functions but due to being on the 5th floor I wasn't impacted by noise. Hotel room was clean but corridors and shared areas were dated and a bit shabby in places"

"We had a really wonderful stay at the Absolute. The staff, the food, the room and the location were all superb. I was especially impressed with the sound-proofing - the hotel was full but we heard nothing at all from any other guests. Everything was just great."

"At first we received a room not to our liking. The next day they gave us a new one. Were apologetic and we appreciated the help from the staff person who wore glasses with long brown hair (sorry, forgot your name!) She was very accommodating "

"Great service! Front desk was amazing and helpful. I wish I remembered her name but the young Spanish lady knew her stuff and provided answers and information quickly while multi-tasking. Fitness center was downstair with a small pool but still could do decent laps in. Food was good. Breakfast buffet was worth it. Rooms were big enough and comfortable. Would stay here again. "

"Booked 2 doubles and a twin, given 3 twins- we’re used to a super king bed and didn’t sleep well. Everything else was ‘as expected’ - clean, relatively modern and friendly. "

"Great place with wonderful staff however has limited parking and once full, if you drive in you are stuck. Very difficult to manoeuvre a way back out if the parking area, and could take you a significant amount of time "

"The Metropole is a historic hotel. The downstairs/lobby/restaurant areas were beautiful. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Within walking distance of everything in Cork. We also visited Kinsale from there which was great, but wished we had stayed there for a quieter experience. Good restaurants and a great wine bar close by. "

"The Falls Hotel is in a great location for visiting the Cliffs and the Burren and everything else in the area. The hotel has a lot of character. We requested a room change because we were first given a small, dark room looking at the car park on a low level. Second room was much nicer with a king bed and window looking at the river. The restaurant in the bar area was decent and breakfast was very good. Plenty of parking available. "
