「It is a magnificent property with great facilities. Well located enough. But Plattenberg is a plain soulless residential seaside town. No quality in terms of restaurants.
The property is closed to shops, cafés and beach (if you don’t mind the very steep hike back). 」

「Absolutely stunning! The room was clean and spacious, with very comfortable beds. The grounds are lovely which make for a very relaxing stay. Lots of choice at breakfast and evening meals were delicious. Highly recommend.」

「Cecil and Colleen who were our hosts were so friendly and helpful, and our Premier Room's sea view from our room and private balcony was superb.
Breakfasts were so enjoyable, with a good choice of cold and cooked food.
Parking was also great and secure.」

「The most beautiful room we have ever had with stunning sea views and a great roof terrace that gets very busy. The only disappointment we had was the pool which is very small and in a public area without guest lounging space so we felt uncomfortable to use it. The breakfast was fantastic and great value as it was included and the breakfast restaurant area is beautiful, again with lovely views however service was very slow. 」

「What a wonderful place, probably our fifth or sixth visit over there the last 20 years. Safe, peaceful and in fact Belvedere is unchanging, the whole area highly controlled.
It’s Gods window, a place I am so happy and content. A wonderful place to stay. 」

「In general the hotel is very run down. Things falling apart and dysfunctional, including pool area and umbrellas and gardens. The resort is in desperate need of serious maintenance. Also, no wi fi in rooms for a 4 star hotel is not really acceptable. Poor conditions somewhat compensated for by the first class and much appreciated service from Petrus and some of his staff -especially chef and Thabisa.」
