The service was excellent, and the breakfast was full and good. The room was clean, and everything needed was available, although very small and single bed was very small. There was only one pillow, and it was hard and gave me a headache and hard to sleep with. I asked for another one but was told that the hotel was full and no extra pillows! Was given a second pillow for my last of 4 nights and it was good. The area was easy to access the bus and is close/ convenient to the airport. However, it is not close to downtown Zurich and doesn't have much to offer close by. I only found one dining option and it was not very good and was overpriced. Only one grocery store close by and it closed very early. Overall, I did think the hotel was good and reasonably priced and I would consider staying there again if I was in Zurich again. I felt safe walking around the area, but it was very residential not touristy and not much to offer.

Overall, good stay. Very close to the airport which was convenient for us the morning before our flight. Breakfast included, was good.

Wonderful! Nice, clean, contemporary hotel. The staff was awesome and very helpful. The breakfast was very good and the croissants were amazing! They bake them fresh every morning. You won't be disappointed!

Staff very helpful & accommodating, Riza & Lucio (?)- front desk guy. Gave us recommendations for dinner & transport going to Zurich central. Very convenient going to the airport. Also only 1 tram ride to Zurich. Walkable to station. Quiet nice place, big balcony. Small sleeping area.

Little expensive since we booked at the last moment. But we booked the penthouse and we had a great time. They serve breakfast and the staff was amazing as well. Its 5 mins away from airport.

The “penthouse” smells like cigarettes. Our key worked after four attempts by the manager. There were cigarette butts in an ash tray. One our beds didn’t have any sheets. They charged an extra 100 francs for having 5 people in a penthouse!? Do not stay at this hotel.

Super wenn man zum Flughafen muss.
Junges, freundliches Personal. Das Hotel ist in einem sehr ruhigen Wohnquartier, nur 10 Minuten vom Flughafen entfernt und die Bushaltestelle gleich um die Ecke. Deshalb ist das Hotel auch nicht in einem üblichen Hotelkomplex, sondern über ein ganzes Wohnhaus verteilt. Frühstück hat für mich auch bestens gepasst. Auswahl ist genau richtig finde ich, nicht übermässig gross wie in anderen Hotels. Das Badezimmer ist sauber und die Regendusche wirklich super zum entspannen. Nur bei der Matratze hat es noch Verbesserungspotenzial - ist aber natürlich Ansichtssache und rein subjektiv zu verstehen: Viel zu weich und vor allem besteht das Queensbett aus zwei Einzelmatratzen und somit hat es in der Mitte eine recht grosse «Mulde». Es ist auch etwas ringhörig zum Treppenhaus hin. Alles in allem war ich aber trotzdem zufrieden und darum 4 von 5 Sternen.

Während der Übernachtung war nicht an Schlaf zu denken, weil ab ca. 1h30 morgens Gäste im Hotel gestritten und randaliert haben. Schlussendlich hat die Polizei die Gäste "entfernt". Der Rezeptionist hat sich entschuldigt. In so einem krassen Fall hätte ich jedoch mehr erwartet (Preisreduktion, Transfer zum Flughafen). Auch die Sauberkeit im Zimmer war nicht über alle Zweifel erhaben. Zudem war der WC-Deckel lose. Es tut mir leid, aber ich kann das Hotel nicht empfehlen.

The Gate Boutique Hotel is in walking distance from the tram stop. Its also closer to Glattbrugg business park (15 minutes walk). The hotel breakfast is good. Price varies if you are lucky you can get for better price.

Our plane was delayed and our baggage did not arrive with the flight so we had to spend additional time to put a claim in for our luggage. This process delayed our arrival to midnight that evening. We could not send a notice to The Gate Boutique as we were not aware of the baggage and plane delays until it was too late. The Gate Boutique closes and locks the door at 11:00. We arrived at midnight due to our plane delays and the number listed on the door came back as non registered so we could not reach anyone at the hotel. We ended up walking to another hotel about a half mile away and luckily for us they were open and we could spend the night. However, The Gate Boutique Hotel charged our credit card for that night so we have paid double for that night's stay.

The sole redeeming factor is the proximity to the airport -but this is also the biggest drawback - road noise and airplanes overhead are quite loud. Other options are far better and not that much farther to get closer to the city center. Would not stay here again unless it was just an overnight between flights - and maybe not even then.

Affordable, convenient accommodation near airport
Comfortable and convenient hotel near the airport. Near bus stop with regular bus to the airport and only 20 minutes to the city centre of Zürich by public transport.

Penthouse Palaver!
Hotel is in residential area with easy public transport access. We had booked the penthouse suite which was really well equipped for cooking facilities but had absolutely no pots or pans or even a kettle. Given the cost it would have been nice to have a cup of tea, as the coffee provided was the worst on our 3 week trip! The toilet seats were also lose and dangerous. The receptionist was doing breakfasts so checkout was slow. Maybe try staying in the penthouse yourselves and see how it actually works! It was not quite the 5 star experience we expected. Thanks

Scammers. be advised. hotel is quite cute, reasonably priced, couple of minutes bus drive to the airport BUT, as i also in retrospect read in other reviews, found a way to scam. Left the plastic key card in the bin in the room , after no keycard box was in the reception and nowhere in the instructions was any mention of it - so without any further communication inquiring about where i left it, they hit me with a charge to my card for half of the accommodation price ! and thats for a 30ct plastic card they presumebaly didnt find. I really recommend not doing bussiness with them.
