Hi Keith, I apologize that you had to move rooms when you booked in advance. I will be speaking to my team about this to ensure this doesn't happen to another guest as we typically only do room moves if it's pre-arranged before check-in. I apologize this was a negative start to your stay, but hope the rest of your time here was enjoyed. You are very right about the carpets- we are currently in the process of upgrading our rooms with new flooring, paint, furniture and TV's. If we are made aware of any loud guests and the situation doesn't improve, those guests will be asked to leave.I did move you and your wife to a different room and wing to try to ensure the rest of your stay was quieter, which I hope it was. We do have rooms that are non-adjoining if you are ever in the area again. I hope you were able to catch some of the northern lights and the rest of your time in Yellowknife was enjoyed! Danielle

The hotel carpets and paint are definitely showing their age and we are currently in the process of painting the public areas and will be moving into rooms after to start painting. The carpets are also in the process of being changed out and updated. I'm sorry you found spots on the walls, I have passed this on to Housekeeping to ensure this is being looked after. Regarding the Maintenance, I am not sure why that was happening so early and I'm sorry that it disturbed your stay. I will be looking into that so it hopefully is not something that happens again. The rooms that have balconies are permitted to smoke outside, and unfortunately that may mean some of that can be smelled in other rooms if windows are open. The hotel itself is non-smoking however. I'm sorry you had issues with the windows- all windows should open in every room and I will pass this on to Maintenance to be checking so this isn't an issue again. At this time, we do not provide daily cleaning but there should have been an information sheet in your room providing details that we do clean stay rooms on request and that you can phone down to the desk to have items delivered to your room as needed throughout your stay. Regarding the kettle, I did replace the kettle that wasn't very clean once it was brought to my attention. The replacement kettle was cleaned and disinfected before being given to you. It was inspected when it was returned and no mold was found, but the Housekeeping team was alerted and we have been working to ensure that all kettles are cleaned properly for each new guest.
