About this property
Secluded Lakefront Lodge in Iowa's Great Lakes
This year-round home sits on 6.5 acres in southwest Minnesota with over 400' of elevated shoreline. The cabin is a two-story structure with loft. Guests will enjoy comfortable accommodations including 4 Sleep Number beds (2 King beds, 2 Queen beds), 1 full size Tempur-Pedic bed, 1 queen size sofa sleeper, 2 roll-away twin size beds, dining to accommodate 12+ meal guests, two full bathrooms (main floor and basement levels), laundry facilities, etc.
This cabin fuses Northern Minnesota lodge feel with modern utilitarian features. A deck with large gas grill off the kitchen allows guests to prepare and serve meals without missing any of the action. The loft and open floor plan allow for a beautiful east-facing view of peaceful Loon Lake. Walkout basement with large patio promotes relaxed socializing with room for family and friends to play in the yard.
Two private docks are included on site with public boat ramp access only 1 block away. Other amenities include full service kitchen, Keurig coffee maker, stoneware service of 8+, cookware, free WiFi, two gas fireplaces (one in basement and one on main floor), satellite television (Dish Network), video game console (Xbox One), free on-site laundry, keyless entry, and ample parking. Kayaks, canoe, and small fishing boat are all available for rent as well (contact owners for availability and pricing).
As for local attractions, guests can enjoy golfing, walking / riding bike trails, swimming, fishing, hunting nearby public lands, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and so on. For especially large groups (i.e., exceeding the cabin's capacity), friends and family are encouraged to utilize the neighboring Jackson County campgrounds (Anderson, Brown, and Robertson all within one mile). These campgrounds offer campsites with electricity (20, 30, and 50 amp service), rustic campsites, restrooms, hot showers, and playground equipment.
If guests wish to explore a larger area, there are two breweries, two wineries, a drive-in theater, movie theater, boutiques, antique shops, spas, flea markets, waterpark, amusement park, concerts and nightlife all within 15 miles or less. This property definitely gives you the space needed to spread out and relax in a quiet family atmosphere. Yet it is close enough to take in the Okoboji experience when the time is right.
Loon Lake is located in Jackson County, Minnesota. This lake covers 679 acres. It is approximately 7 feet deep at its deepest point. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Bigmouth Buffalo, Black Bullhead, Black Crappie, Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Lake Sturgeon, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker, Yellow Bullhead and Yellow Perch.
