「The owners were very responsive. The property was well kept and comfortable. Even with the owners living on site, there was no one bothering us. We didn’t do any outdoor activities on the property with all of the cabins being rather close together with no separation, but it was too hot to be outside anyway.」

「We had a nice stay at Black Bear Cabin. Short distance to tourist attractions. Hot tub was enjoyed and the beds were comfortable. Some things that might help improve the stay for others would be: dish towels for easier kitchen clean up, ability to plug in deck lighting, hooks or shelving in rooms for towels and clothes, end tables in the queen bed rooms, and fresh batteries for basement remote. The kitchen had all the tools we needed for cooking. Great place for meditating and quality time. 」

「This historic location was an amazing home base for our girl’s trip to NE Iowa. It’s clean and such a unique place to stay. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of room for the four of us. Our favorite part was people watching from the sun room area, although margaritas on the back patio were a close second. :)」

「Overall good property but could use a little updating/clean up, all around the property is clutter. Around the pool there are left over items from previous guests, pool cover (ripped), broken chairs, etc. there is also a lot of extra leftover items below deck around hot tub and fire pit. Property just need a little maintenance - light bulbs need changed, pool is leaking, etc.We had a lot of fun but a few items that would have made it perfect! It was a fun experience for our extended family!」

「Good location, a bit noisier than I expected due to trains during the night and some construction. Close to Yellow River Forest, Effigy Mounds and Pikes Peak State Park. Comfortable furniture and bed. Kitchen area includes microwave and small fridge, no sink. Looked like a nice fireplace which I did not use. Shopping, but few restaurants of note on main street; a couple of bars and one gourmet store. Kwik Star right across the street which was convenient. Host was friendly and accessible.」
