Perfect little cabins with so many things you could need provided for you. They were so quaint and quiet. Our kiddos loved exploring the woods out back. They had the absolute best warm breakfast in the mornings with quiches, waffles, fruit, all sorts of yummy pastries and breads. It’s walkable to everything in downtown Winthrop. I would absolutely stay here again!

The staff are awesome and so accommodating. Kelly and Jocelyn at the front desk truly care about making your stay the best. The parking can be a bit awkward but we didn’t have a problem finding the right place. Breakfast was yummy with a great selection. My husband had a medical emergency and everyone was so helpful to us. He’s fine and we’re home. We will definitely stay here again when we’re in Winthrop.

We really liked the property and the location. Loved our room with the beautiful view. The breakfast served was excellent and for the most part, the staff was friendly. What we didn’t like was the fact we had an issue with the bathtub drainage. I went to the office to let them know and couldn’t find anyone to talk to. I even called out towards the laundry/living quarters and nobody came out. When we got back to the property that evening, the same thing happened. Nobody there. The next morning after breakfast I tried to find someone to talk to and still had no luck so I called the number posted at the desk. When I told the girl that answered the phone that the tub doesn’t drain correctly she acted like it wasn’t a big deal. We couldn’t stand to take a shower in standing water, especially since it wasn’t our hair etc causing the clog. Gross! We decided to leave a day early and forfeit the cost of our room. So disappointing. We loved the hotel other than that and would stay there again if I were sure the repairs had been made.

The instructions to find our unit were not as clear as they could have been Also, we were not advised that we had to tell them by putting a sign on our door that we wanted the room serviced. Breakfast was not the best with limited choices of food. The waffle maker didn't work properly and no one we talked to seemed to know anything about it.

I am so sorry to hear that you had trouble finding your unit. We have had our directions written down for quite a few years now but it never hurts to check into it again. I do not recall talking with anyone about the waffle maker not working I will check with the staff to see what was going on while you were here. It is a pretty straight forward machine thankfully! We rotate our breakfast daily with all homemade items. I am sorry it was not what you were expecting. We really try to have something for everyone!

Not at all what I expected (in a good way)
Very surprised (in a good way) to see our room. Was listed as having no windows. Turned out to be a very spacious two-room basement suite with an abundance of lighting, fluffy clouds in a bright blue sky painted on the ceiling with cheerful artwork simulating windows. Sparkling clean. Warm and cozy. Comfortable bed. Very peaceful and quiet. Delicious breakfast buffet in the morning.

Chewuch is a great spot to stay if you want to be walking distance to town, but also have some peace & quiet. The king cabin was fantastic for us and we’d stay there again anytime of the year!

The Chewuch Inn is an excellent choice for staying in Winthrop. It is an easy walk over the river to the restaurants and shops and during the winter it is so convenient to the XC ski trails. The breakfast is really good, especially the homemade pastries and muffins. We have stayed at the Chewuch Inn twice and the second time we stayed in the "no window" King suite since it was the only room available. It was fine. During the winter it was dark outside anyway. However, you will hear the breakfast workers above you around 7:30am each morning. Good quality for the price.

Property was rundown and not clean. There were spiders in our room and questionably clean sheets. The room was very loud. The breakfast was lacking and so smokey from the waffle maker. No coffee and no juice or butter. Very disappointed. Will not stay again. Will not recommend.

Sam, Thank you for taking the time to write your experience. I would really like to know what was not clean upon your arrival and what you felt was rundown. We check all arrival rooms to make sure they are good to go so I do apologize that you found spiders in your room. I am not making excuses but as it gets colder they do tend to find their way to where it is warmer. Your room is right next to an entrance/exit. I am wondering if that is what you are referring to when you say it is loud. The waffle maker created a lot of smoke because someone unfortunately put the temperature at the very max and as soon as it was left for even a small amount of time it started burning due to it being so hot. We have resolved this issue and I am very sorry that you were there when it happened and had to experience that! We are constantly filling our breakfast bar and as large crowds and rushes come in it does mean that sometimes all of something is gone but we do our best to refill as quick as possible when we run back and forth from the breakfast room and the kitchen. Regardless, We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay and hope you reconsider coming back and maybe trying a cabin or a different room. We appreciate all feedback good or bad. We can learn from it!

Great place for a quiet getaway. My only suggestion is that they add a handhold for climbing in and out of the big curved tub-shower. That was it. Everything else was excellent. We will be back!

Our room was cozy and clean. The breakfast was delicious. Our only disappointment was the tv and internet service. Only streaming services on the tv and many times buffering during a show. We were hoping to watch some college football but those channels were not available.

Take Note
I was disappointed that we were not in cabins like the images on the website. I did not like being in a basement room, but at least we had the two queen beds and a twin bed. Wish we’d had a window, as well as something for white noise at night. Two people were talking behind the emergency door in our room in the morning (while we were trying to sleep.) Must have been a downstairs storage area for kitchen or housekeeping; sounded like they were in our room. Close to town was a plus. Breakfast was pretty good; a little different than typical hotel chains. Liked the quiche both days. Liked the decor in the breakfast area. Wish they had better game options in sitting room… limited. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. Not sure if I’d go back. Maybe.

Perfect!
We stayed a night in cabin 14 during our leisure 4 day drive around the cascade loop. We would definetely stay here again! The staff is friendly and accomodating and our cabin was so adorable. It included a deck facing the trees with chairs and a small table as well as a charcoal grill. I was hoping to see the deer in the back of our cabin, but they were munching on the brush in front of our cabin instead. lol. After reading reviews of how awesome the breakfast was, I was expecting a bit more. It was just okay. Maybe the menu deferent each day? There wasn't much of a selection, but the breakfast quiche was okay. It would have been nice to have some bacon or sausage. It's a great location with a short walking distace or drive into the Western town of Winthrop. Sadly, most of the shops were closed by 4pm, but a few eateries and Old Schoolhouse Brewery stayed open until 8pm. Overall our stay was perfect!

Thank you Lori for your review! We take pride in our breakfast and ensure that it has something different to it every day. We make everything homemade even our english muffins and bagels. We alternate from a Meat egg dish to a Veggie egg dish every other day just to make sure it is something anyone can have. We have something for everyone! Thank you for your suggestions.

The Cabin exceeded all expectations. Staff was super friendly. Amenities were great. Would definitely recommend and stay at again!
