Weekend away
Merv, met us when we got to the house. Clear instructions given of checking in. Four of us stayed here to catch up. We had a curry from the Indian in Wincanton which was delivered and very tasty. The beds were comfortable, two rooms with double beds, one can be converted to a twin if needed and another room with a single bed. There is an upstairs bathroom with shower over the bath, sink and toilet. There is also a downstairs toilet.
We had a walk round Wincanton, there is a Co-op which was open on Saturday but Boots the Chemist closed at 1pm. There is Lidl and Morrisons within easy walking distance for essentials although Merv kindly offered us to use the essentials already in the house. There is not really very much to do here and the town is extremely quiet. It was ok for us as we just needed a base to catch up.
Saturday night we ate at the Nog Inn, which is a lovely pub in the town. The fish and chips were tasty and with a few drinks on our tab came in at a reasonable price.
The only negative was a strange odour in the house, not sure if it was like stale cigarette smoke.
