Wilderness, Eagles Mere and Extra Activities

Four bedroom house with 2 1/2 baths, two decks, ping pong and pool table, games and books room, modern kitchen and living room. Although I only own 2 1/2 acres, there is no other house within sight and one can go ten miles in two of the four compass directions without finding another human habitation. There is a lake nearby and countless trails and other activities within minutes.

  • The best hike if you like waterfalls, to be precise there are 22 of them. To see them all you will have to hike for about 7 miles. Dog friendly. I highly recommend you won't regret it! The hike is not very difficult, with accessional hikes up and down, but it is long considering that you will stop to admire and take pictures at most of the waterfalls. Bring lunch, snack and water if you planning to see all 22 waterfalls.

The Good: Ample room for 5+ adults Hot water was extremely hot The Bad: No hot tub as advertised. Dishwasher was broken. Discovered note inside when we went to use it. Microwave carousel not working Rodent infestation - mice droppings everywhere. Broken handle for shower Overpriced for what you're getting. Furniture was rundown. Landline didn't work.

Disappointing experience

House was dirty. kitchen counters had spilled coffee, food crumbs, coffee grounds and mice droppings. Cobwebs everywhere, ceilings. windows, floors, around the cords plugged into the outlets. Used razors and tooth brushes in both bathrooms. No shower curtain in first floor bath resulting in the floor getting soaked when shower was used. Bedding smelled dirty. Fridge had used food stuff, including an open partial stick of butter on a plate. Toaster had slice of burnt bread in it. Coffee pot had moldy remnants of coffee in it. Coffee mugs on deck with moldy liquid. Outdoor trash was full with no room for our trash and owner expected us to take it from the top floor to ground level and then to the end of the driveway for pick up. Flooring on first floor had water damage and the planks had screws in it that stuck up above the surface causing a safety hazard. Drawers in the kitchen had mice droppings in them. Live mice running up the stairs and into the kitchen while we were at the kitchen table. Several safety issues including lack of lighting at the front door, hand rails not strong enough to use because they only had brackets at the ends and no support in the middle and in some places they were flush against the walls so they could not be held. Hot tub doesn't exist. We paid a pet fee, however our dog passed away before the trip. When I requested a refund of the pet fee as well as the cleaning fees owner told me he would only return them if I gave him a 5 star review.

Eagles mere rental

Location of property very nice. Could have been cleaned better but the owner did let us know that his cleaning lady canceled before we got there. But over all very nice location in the woods.

The Wilderness

Ben was a very accommodating host. He met us on sight at check-in, showed us around the property and gave us his phone number in the event we needed to contact him for anything. There is a great bar-b-q area and hang out area right outside the front door. The house is in the middle of nowhere, great for rest and relaxation.
