Wade spoke to us in Japanese, when we were having dinner at the restaurant. And we had a great time to talking her and her boss. Also the meal was good. The receptionists were so kind. We had relaxed in your hotel. Thank you so much.

Not like the photos at all, obviously they have done up some rooms and used those photos. But the photos are completely misleading for what we stayed in, had there have been pictures of what our room was, we would have never booked it. The shower is just open next to the toilet and basin with only a curtain separating it, water goes everywhere. Heating/cooling system is ancient and loud. Musty and crusty room. Won't be back. Old and dilapidated. We were also meant to have two double beds as per booking, but there was only one, and as we checked in at 10pm to check out at 7am, couldn't be bothered with the hassle of saying anything. Bed was uncomfortable, we both kept waking because of it. Staff were great, but accommodation not so.

The lights flickered, the bathroom was less then average with a awful sink to wash hands. Layout of room made it hard to get into the ensuite. No coffee machine even tho we had pods. Staff were veey good though and location is defiant easier from Lampton Quay.

Great location. Suite had an amazing view of Wellington and water front. Only complaint t was room was close to lounge and could hear staff very early each morning re stocking lounge.

Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was clean and well kept. In need of an upgrade at some stage, but perfect for what we needed. And excellent for the price!

We had a wonderful weekend and as I was celebrating my 60th Birthday they made it very special by leaving us a birthday platter in our room. We stayed at the Hotel because my son stayed a few weeks before and he recommended it. thankyou very much

I liked how there was a lift down to lambton quay inside the hotel. I liked that you needed to swipe your room key to get to your floor. Because we had 2 young children they let us check in early. Staff were lovely. The buffet breakfast was epic! Lots of variety, pancakes and eggs cooked to order. The restaurant reminded me of a big open space with standard table and chairs like an rsa or retirement home communal dining area. Didnt go there for dinner.

We had a junior suite on the top floor and it was worth the extra money. Great view and large room with nice bed. Included access to the lounge with snacks, coffee and non alcoholic drinks. Would recommend as a place In Wellington

We stayed 4 nights. The hotel is pretty old, with only basic amenities. We were given a room on the second floor, making it pretty noisy from the constant traffic. The housekeeping didn't do a good job. Didn't even refill the soap, shampoo and conditioner. The only good thing is it exits to Lambton Quay and very close to all the stores, cable car and buses. I would pay more to stay at a much nicer hotel next time.

Room was rather basic. Poor bedside reading light options. No drawers at all to unpack smaller clothing items. Bed was comfortable tho.

The toilet roll kept coming off the toilet roll holder. The roll size of the paper was too big for the holder. Apart from that everything was great.

Me cobraron por el estacionamiento por adelantado y al hacer check out, volvieron a cobrarme y resultó que tenía que además pagar otra tarifa en el estacionamiento al salir, me hicieron perder tiempo y no me querían atender, casi pierdo el Ferry. Muy mala atención en recepción, son indolentes y groseros. They charged me for parking in advance and when I checked out, they charged me again and it turned out that I also had to pay another fee in the parking lot when I left, they made me waste my time and they didn't want to serve me, I almost missed the Ferry. Very bad service at reception, they are lazy and rude.

1. The hotel reception didn’t know about Expedia VIP benefits until I repeated asked them about it. I was only given 2 free drinks vouchers because kids “didn’t” count. 2. We have stayed at James Cook several times before. The room is clean and comfortable. We moved both beds to have more spaces for our luggages. Housekeeping needs to clean the reads unseen, there’s quite a bit of stuff there(pills, hair clips etc). 3. Buffet breakfast was quite good with plenty of hot and cold choices. The old “chef” there could perhaps be a bit more friendly. 4. Overall we are pretty happy with the hotel and will definitely stay again.

The property was good. Room was specious. Reception staff member war horrible. He charged me extra amount despite I was holding Expedia paid online booking voucher for car parking which is surprising. They returned the amount afterwards.

The window had a leak and cold air blowed all night. Since it was a windy night, it felt like train was passing all night with the sound of compressed air howling. The property looks like 3 star at best. The bathroom looks old and faded.
