The location of Villa Riva is excellent, probably unrivaled in Kut/Vis. The interior is very stylish and also well designed, with all amenities. Each floor is in itself surprisingly small, and the house has lots of stairs. But this also adds a certain charm, and a sense of privacy to each floor. All three bedrooms are on separate floors and have en suite bathrooms, and one has its own terrace with sunbeds. The top floor has a kitchen/living room and another terrace with amazing views across the entire harbour. 10 meters from the door is a dip in the sea and five meters away is the closest of many konobas/taverns, so it is possible to keep your entire holiday experience extremely local if you like. Boat traffic and party atmosphere in the harbour varied somewhat throughout the day and week, and at Villa Riva you feel rather in the middle of it all as an observer. This made for some good people- and boatwatching. We also had water taxi and boat trips arranged for us by the house manager's family, and made good use of the owner's excellent recommendations for trips and restaurants. Our favourites were probably Pojoda in Kut, Lola in Vis and Jastozera in Komiza. For bars, we recommend Fruterija and Lambik in particular. Both children, teenagers and adults loved our stay at Villa Riva, and we will always remeber where we were when Croatia played the World Cup Final ;-)
