Fabulous find

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful setting that is conveniently located near downtown Victoria. Our host was wonderful and we would not hesitate to return or recommend this to friends.

Excellent, very clean, happy living / garden space. Professionally managed, great access to the entire James Bay Area. Park your car off street and walk to the downtown attractions or easily get out of the metro area. Book it if you can.

We had a wonderful stay here and would absolutely come back again. Great location, walkable to/from the Clipper and downtown, shops, restaurants, etc. Quiet and safe neighborhood, beautiful property with a garden, plants, and the apartment had everything we could need...a full kitchen, private patio, comfy living area, standard bathroom, and cozy king sized bed. It was the perfect place to rest in the afternoon and come home to after a long day of exploring.

Cute garden hideaway in a great location!

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! The property is located in a prime location in walking distance to amazing restaurants and downtown. The host left us a delicious welcome gift of homemade brownies. A couple other notable perks of the property were the very comfortable and luxurious king sized bed, the luxurious bath robes, real coffee creamer for the coffee and the cute dogs sometimes hanging out in the back garden!

The listing promised a lot, but this small, handsome cottage exceeded our expectations, and the private garden patio -- where we lunched, surrounded by flowers -- was icing on the cake.

Stayed four days in probably the best possible location for visiting downtown Victoria. Two block walk to a clipper ferry was a nice bonus

Perfect spot fir couple in Victoria

Lovely cozy spot in Victoria hosted by Dianne. Short walk to many local sights. Well stocked kitchen, comfy king bed and pretty private garden with bbq. Enjoyed a three night stay in June. Thanks.

Short walks to downtown, Fishman's Wharf and grocery/liquor stores. Suite has a very comfortable bed with a nice sitting area and a great private patio. Kitchen is modern and very well appointed. Neighbourhood is also quiet and there is lots of parking. Will definitely stay here again!

Awesome location

Responsive host. Cleanliness left a little to be desired, there was quite a bit of splatter in the bathroom. Over all good stay, we just probably caught the cleaners on a bad day.

Peaceful and Energized at the same time.

In the heart of James Bay, there is no lack of things to do or see. But Diane has set up the guest cottage as a true retreat. The private patio is something you will not find at other properties in the area. The property and neighbourhood has more flowers than most city parks.

James Bay Gem

This was the perfect home away from home. We enjoyed the proximity to everything (so central). It is an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go and when we ventured further, the bus was so close. The cottage had everything and more than we needed. It was super comfy and cozy! Dianne is the perfect hostess - always checking in to ensure that all is well, giving us other activity options and just her overall welcoming spirit - we feel we have known her for years and we hope that will come true! -- Yvonne & Mike

Serenity and Serendipity

Clean, quiet, 5 minutes on bike from the ferry dock. Lots of space for 2 including a lovely private patio we weren't expecting. Well stocked with coffee and other necessities. Host was as nice as anyone could possibly ever be in letting us store bikes/bags while we were out and about. As it turned out too, staying with Dianne and her house full of adventurers was also exactly right for providing us some advice, inspiration and wisdom during some big work/life changes. Which made this an amazing restorative getaway. We'll be back for sure!

GOOD STAY IN MAY

Dianne was an accomodating, interesting host/hostess. The suite was somewhat cramped but very clean. Our dog enjoyed her stay. Shower terrific. Bed comfy. Patio private. However, lots was going on outside the suite - renovations, folks coming and going, and, I think, garden/horticulture folks doing some planting. Handy location. Better than most hotel rooms. A little gem in James Bay

My husband and I stayed here with our little dog over Christmas. It truly is a small jewel of a property. It’s in a great location in James Bay, just a couple of blocks behind the Parliament buildings and walkable to everything in downtown Victoria. Being in this area over the holidays was magical. The unit is small but cozy and very well laid out. There is a lovely little garden and sitting area in the back, which was nice to look out on, but would be great in the summer. The host, Dianne, lives in the main house on the property, and she is readily available for any questions, but not intrusive. The house is very well stocked, with everything you might need, including a selection of teas and coffee, instant oatmeal, milk pods in the fridge, and even homemade brownies. The king sized bed was very comfortable. We appreciated that it was dog friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend It to anyone looking for a lovely apartment in a great location.

Victoria getaway

Loved the location. Had coffee, tea, oatmeal and lovely surprise of brownies. Pvt garden area was nice although we were out exploring Victoria most of the day. Bed was super comfortable and bath towels really plush/soft. Small but nice for our short stay

Long weekend in Victoria

Was in town for a soccer tournament and stayed at this cute little retreat. Easy check in and checkout. Great little neighborhood close to town. Nice place with a great garden area. Would stay here again if we are ever back in Victoria.

Wonderful stay!

Thank you Diane for a wonderful stay! We were very comfortable and relaxed here. Diane made us feel so welcome, including our dog Rosie. We were welcomed with a holiday poinsettia arrangement and fresh brownies.Some things that we especially appreciated - stand alone cottage, meaning there were no people above whose voices or footsteps could be heard, the unit was brightly lit thanks to two skylights and large windows in the living area which was especially appreciated on cloudy days, the back patio is very private with lovely trees, pots and furniture making for a nice view out the patio door, the kitchen is small but very well stocked, the bed was extremely comfortable, several real plants made it feel more like home, coffee, tea, oatmeal packets and some other helpful pantry staples were provided and you can’t beat the location in James Bay! A few things to remember: there is no door to separate the bedroom from the living space, the primary entrance to the unit is into the bedroom. These can be noted from the photos. There are other units for rent in the main house meaning there could be other people outside in the main part of the back yard. None of these things detracted from our positive experience but just a reminder so you are not surprised. Thanks again Diane, we hope to return.
