"Enrico's Hideaway near the Rialto Bridge - It's Over The Moon!"

This original apartment was planned by an architect in a quiet lane close to one of the main streets in Venice, within Campo San Polo - one of the most famous and large squares in Venice - and it is 5 minutes walk from the famous RIALTO BRIDGE.

In Campo San Polo there is the 'Querini Dubois Palace' an excellent example of Venetian Renaissance architecture, today used as a cultural Centre also for the Film festival organization. During that event in September, St. Polo’s square becomes a moving picture theatre every evening. The apartment is really only a few minutes walk from the public water bus (called 'vaporetto' line 1 SAN STAE or SAN SILVESTRO), and it is situated near Rialto, the oldest area of Venice historic centre in a centuries old building, on the 2nd floor (North American designation, 1st European).

The entrance is through an independent door and stairs used by two apartments, with earthenware floor and original wooden beam ceilings. It offers very easy access to all the city attractions (only a short walk (15 min. - to St. Mark’s square!). Moreover, in the same district you can find 'Basilica dei Frari' a wonderful church full of historical vestiges, including Canova’s grave.

The apartment is perfect for a couple on a romantic holiday, as it offers warmth, privacy, and the comfort of the most central position you could wish for! But also, the apartment can be the perfect, comfortable and convenient base to explore Venice's beauty and discover its alleys, canal, sights - restaurants, bars and Bacari or osterie (characteristic and historic Venetian wine bars with daily SPRITZ. Meeting place where it is possible to eat small fried food and have a chat with friends or even strangers).

Shop and market are round the corner and just in a few steps you are at the fish market 'La Pescaria' famous all over the world (fish, fruit and vegetable). Moreover, only in a short distance from the apartment, you can find some of the most typical and characteristic Venetian restaurants, very interesting for the various gastronomic proposals and for the different service and rates, such as: DA FIORE, one of the most exclusive restaurants in Italy, suitable to very high standard dinner; ANTICHE CARAMPANE, Venetian cuisine, high level, very quiet in a charming corner, VECIO FRITOLIN an old and marvellous tavern in Calle della Regina (Rialto), meeting place for artists and, in a short way away close to them, AL NONO RISORTO for a dinner in the garden; in Campo St. Polo BIRRARIA LA CORTE pizza-restaurant and characteristic Venetian cuisine. While, for visitors of the Biennal Exhibition gardens, AL DIPORTO at St. Elena’s island offers typical dishes and is attended by Venetians.

Great location and space

Enrico’s place was very clean and conveniently located. Luca met me at the vaporetto stop and walked me through the apartment, which was helpful and he gave recommendations around the city. The air conditioning worked great. No complaints.

It was better than expected

We had a great time, the place was modern, clean and had everything we needed. It is in a great location. Enrico's suggestions for supper are excellent. I would recommend this place for anyone, we have stayed at many VRBO's throughout the world and this is a good one!

Enchanting apartment

We loved our stay at Enrico’s Hideaway. It was such a pleasant apartment with a view that kept us glued to the windows anytime we were there. Clean and fully furnished with everything you could possibly need for your stay in Venice. We would love to return someday. Thank you Enrico for being such a great host.

Location, location, location!

We stayed 5 nights in this lovely and updated apartment. It was just as depicted in the photos with two views to two different canals. Getting around Venice is always a little challenging but this apartment was the perfect basecamp. Marina met us at our water taxi stop to lead us to the apartment for a full tour. The kitchen is awesome. and the bed quite comfortable. Great for our short stay!!!

Fantastic apartment in the heart of Venice!

We loved Enrico's apartment in Venice! Perfect location to wander the streets and get lost and find you way again and stumble upon a great coffee shop or restaurant or market. Wonderful pretty firm mattress, very cool to have windows on the canal (extra points for the good screens!) nice shower, perfect kitchen, and lots of room in this place. Everything you need for a long weekend in Venice! Salute Enrico!

Great place in the heart of Venice

My wife and I stayed at Enrico's wonderful apartment for four night in September. The location is great and is only about a 5-10 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge. Being so close to Campo San Polo made navigating back to the apartment easy. It is also about a 5 minute walk to the San Stae water bus route and the walk with suitcases was not very difficult at all. We found a small grocery store just a couple of minutes away and stopped there often for supplies. Upon our arrival the apartment was impeccably clean and had everything we needed. The apartment is situated next to one of Venice's many canals and Gondolas go by on a regular basis, which was charming. The apartment is very private and also very quiet, we never saw anyone else in the building the entire time we were there. This is probably the best VRBO property we have stayed at, and we have stayed at several in different parts of the world. You cannot go wrong with Enrico or his property.

Five stars, again!!!!

This is my 3rd stay at Enrico's apartment. It is perfect. It is exactly as he describes in his description, and more! It's private, well situated (steps away from Campo San Polo), and very quiet. It's close to the Rialto Bridge and all the great shopping & restaurants. It overlooks a small canal and daily, I watched men take their boats, filled with tools, lumber or produce to work in the morning. In the afternoons, I would often hear gondoliers singing to their passengers as they passed below the apartment's windows. I own a vacation rental and I look for a friendly, helpful owner, a spotless accommodation that is well-appointed, and a great location. Enrico's is that and more. I stayed over 3 weeks this visit because this time I wanted more time to explore, photograph and to take beginning Italian from the Venice Italian School. I am already planning next year's visit and will stay at Enrico's again! I highly recommend this rental.

Wonderful stay.

Enrico was wonderful from the moment our reservation was confirmed. He responded with a personal message right away. Prior to check in he contacted us with instructions and a meeting point on the Grand Canal. Enrico personally welcomed us is a very warm and friendly manner and even gave us a gift from his home city, Modena. He and his wife were very gracious hosts. The apartment was completely stocked with towels, linens, umbrellas, washing machine, kitchen utensils and equipment and some basic cooking items. There were many travel guides available for use. His suggestions were spot on - good and bad! The apartment is wonderful and is directly across from a lovely garden so you can enjoy green space right within the city center. There are screens on the windows so they can be open without bugs or birds flying in. The location was great and just a short walk to the Rialto bridge and the market. Defiantly will return!

Very clean, comfortable, safe, quiet. All amenities - excellent value. Recommended for 2 - 3 guests

Enrico is the consummate host....from our first contact at San Stae Vaparetto Station to his warm welcome to Venice, introducing us to the apartment with all amenities needed for guests to be comfortable, and explained all we needed to know to be at ease. Modern facilities in a charming old building that is well located a few steps from Campo San Polo. We walked everywhere from here, and enjoyed coming home to a peaceful and quiet apartment, overlooking the canal and greenery of a garden on the opposite side. The cupboard contained some basic condiments that came in handy. Enrico also graciously spent time detailing favorite restaurants and sites to visit. Do follow his recommendations....you will not go wrong. We enjoyed the more residential area and seeing families out with children in Campo San Polo in the late afternoon. A pleasure to round a corner and feel like you were "home" after a long day. We would definitely stay again! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. EXCELLENT VALUE. Ross and Willa

A wonderful respite in the midst of tourist chaos!

We loved our stay at Enrico's Hideaway. He was waiting patiently for us at the San Stae stop, to escort us to the apartment. By pointing out the proximity to Campo San Polo, you can always be sure to find it after a long day touring. What I loved the most about the apartment was how close it was to almost everything. We tended to walk everywhere, saving an all day water taxi pass for the last day, when our feet finally gave out after 14 days in Italy. That day, we got to see the city by water - which is something that everyone should do. The apartment is very well appointed with everything you need (except an electric dryer, but we made due with the portable clothes dryer). The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage for our things. Having AC was really necessary due to the high heat that week. Enrico was a lovely host. He had a small gift for us of balsamic vinegar (who doesn't want to bring a bottle of this lovely nectar home? This was an awesome idea!) He also gave us a DVD from a past Carnivale, which I have plans to watch this weekend. Best of all, he was extremely thoughtful by providing us with so much useful information. Upon arrival, he showed us through the apartment. He gave us maps, and lists of local restaurants and shops. Most importantly, he notified us of an impending transit strike, which had the potential to disrupt our return to the airport. By providing us with several alternative routes, and the warning to be early, rather than "on time", we were able to ensure we made our flight. To the end, Alilaguna is the best option for getting to Marco Polo. Thanks you Enrico! We loved your place - especially the guiet and serene view. It was a treat to watch a local man attache his docked boat to a wench, lift it out of the water, and bring it into his "boat garage". True life in Venezia!

As good as we’d hoped

We very much enjoyed Enrico’s apartment. We loved the location which was very convenient in San Polo enabling access in many directions, yet very quiet and with fine canal views. It was spacious and well appointed with a good stock of grocery necessities should you want to self-cater. And it had lots of character. We would happily stay there again and enjoy even more of the unique character of wonderful Venice.

Second thought

Upon arrival to Venice: Unfamiliar w/ new country, new language & vasporato was overwhelming. We boarded the water bus we were told to get on but it went the opposite direction we had intended to go. Immediately contacted Enrico w/ our delay. 37 min into our mistake we messaged Enrico again to tell him we were walking to find the apartment & Marina, who we were to meet. Minutes later we got a text message from Luca, from our viewpoint was degrading, stating, “…suggest you find a quick solution”. We never were told to contact Luca. There was definitely a language barrier when finally meeting up with Luca as he was very argumentative for at least 7 min at which we interrupted him & said, “just take us to the apartment”. Needless to say, not a great start when meeting with Luca. No reply back due to “phone trouble” per Enrico. The location is the best. The Hideaway needs a facelift. Revisit IKEA.Towels are thin & smell like mildew after 1 use. Same with kitchen towel. Couldn’t wash them for Luca gave us 1 washing pod for our week stay. Suggest to be a little more generous w/the laundry soap for other guests. Towel warmer does not work. Shower walls/floors w/ black residue. Kitchen skillet, teapot have broken handles. Ice trays broken Above stove vent falls down upon touching. Kitchen sink slow to drain-had to poke through black residue for drainage. Bedsheets worn, smelly, & come off corners. Sofa & throw pillows stained/faded Hope others enjoy the stay

Comfortable and Quiet Neighborhood

My husband and I had a pleasant stay at Enrico’s Hideaway accommodation. We stayed 8 nights and really appreciated the hospitality and quietness of the neighborhood. It was our first visit to Venice and the location of the apartment was ideal as it was close enough to the main points of interest on the beautiful island of Venice and far enough away to experience peace and quiet for resting each night.
