The property was as described. I would’ve given a five star for cleanliness except we had a fairly significant ant problem inside the property. Which brings me to communication from our “property concierge“ who’s contact number we were given prior to check in, and the two stars I gave for communication. The communication from corporate was fine, but the communication from our property concierge was terrible. We initially contacted the concierge about pillows and wifi and had two quick replies on the first day. But then our ant problem happened and after multiple emails to the concierge that went on answered we finally had to reach out directly through Vrbo to get a response from someone. The ant situation never got resolved prior to us checking out. Two of the four pillows that were supplied were awful and need to be replaced, they were literally lumped up balls of poly fill inside, and we also had an issue with the sofa bed, which was relatively comfortable, but when it came time to check out we could not get it to collapse completely back into the couch. The four chairs on the terrace are super cute, but they’re fiberglass and fairly worn so when we sat on them we got fiberglass stuck in our arms and legs and we needed to shower. We ended up pulling the kitchen chairs outside to use while we were there. We did notify the property management people through VRBO about these issues. Aside from that, the view is absolutely wonderful, and the place was clean (aside from the ants). It was really nice having our own terrace with a table and chairs, and there was a great swimming area just below the property. The water feature inside the unit was very unique as well, and there’s an incredible waterfall just a few steps away outside of the unit that’s breathtaking. As far as getting around goes, if you’re staying there Varenna is pretty much the only place to go that’s walking distance for cleaning and food supplies, restaurants, shopping, ferry service, etc. If you have a vehicle it’s easy to get in and out of Varenna, but be advised that if you have to walk everywhere it’s about a mile walk and some of the route has little or no shoulder or sidewalk area, and it’s all uphill heading into Varenna. If you can get a taxi it’s great, but they weren’t always easy to come by.
