Comfy, Cozy Beach Apartment for Two with Adjustable King Bed!!!

DOWNSTAIRS / The tastefully-decorated newly-renovated, beach-chic apartment has a complete kitchen with stainless appliances. A small round dinette table with four chairs rounds out the kitchen area. It is combined with the attractive living area that features a fold down couch that can sleep one adult or two small children, making it a good fit for a small family. Two barrel chairs are made for relaxing, reading or watching the flat screen television, which has DVD capability.

The bedroom accommodates an adjustable mattress King bed. The large sliding mirrored-door closet provides plenty of space for clothing and personal items and holds a suitcase stand and ironing board.

The front screened porch has two comfortable metal chairs with a small table that are just right for a relaxing finish to your day in the sun.

Out back, just off the bedroom door, is a nice concrete patio with a turquoise metal table and two matching chairs.

Inside a Mitsubishi overhead heat pump unit provides plenty of heat during cold months and plenty of cold air conditioning in the summer. To help move air around on those particularly hot days, a floor fan is provided for your convenience.

This apartment is just right for a couple. However, it can accommodate one teenager or perhaps two small children or one other average-sized adult on the fold down sofa. With only 450' floor space it can be close quarters for anymore than two, but close friends and family sometimes don't mind sharing space.

The upstairs apartment may also be rented to allow for plenty of room for family and friends.

On the south facing wall is a beautiful ocean life mural designed and painted by world renowned artist Mary Jane Volkmann who was assisted by owner Cathy J. Sakas. On the front of the cottage under the eave just under the roof, the sassy Octopus watches over her Lair.

Our IN SEASON rates range from $90 on weeknights to $120 on weekends with a two-night minimum, plus hotel/motel taxes & fees (see rates). Discounted weekly and monthly rentals are also available.

Great place to stay!

This is the second time I’ve stayed at the Octopus Lair and I was again very pleased! It’s clean, close to most attractions on the island, and the communication with the property owner is top notch! Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Nice little Tybee bungalow

Emphasis on both nice, and little. If you’re looking for space, this is not the place for you. But if you’re looking for a nice place, nicely laid out, great kitchen for its size, in a great location, you can’t go wrong with this place. Close enough to the restaurants, beach and fun, but not so close that there are crazy crowds/noise. Great communication, easy check in and out too. Would definitely stay again

Long weekend getaway

Octopus Liar was perfect for 2 people. Very clean and had everything you needed for your stay. Everything was within walking distance including shopping, eating and the beach. Only complaint was noise from upstairs guest. Highly recommend this rental.

Delight at the Octapus

The cottage was in a sweet neighborhood near everything--beach, restaurants, movie theatre, stores, ice cream. Everything we needed was in the well stocked kitchen. It was thoughtfully ocean resort decorated--delightful!!! We LOVED Tybee and would love to return.

Cozy little house

This was our first time in Tybee Island, GA and we weren’t sure where to book to stay. But this place was amazing for us. It was super close to the market, the beach, food, and stores! Everything was within a ten minute walk, such a convenient location and really nice area! It had plenty of space and everything you needed to cook. It was a fantastic trip and I would definitely book again and i recommend for anyone who wants a nice cozy place to stay in a very convenient area!

Walking distance to beach and restaurants!

The Octopus Lair was perfect for our stay. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and to lots of restaurants and shops. We also rented bikes and rode all around the island! The Lair was clean and most importantly had amazing AC. The property was very charming and we were lucky enough to see the local osprey nesting in her trees! If you had another couple vacationing with you, it would be perfect to have them rent the upstairs while you stayed downstairs. Would definitely stay here again.

Tybee getaway

Tybee island and the beach is very peaceful and beautiful. It was our first time and we loved it. The beach is very clean and not too crowded, as long as you are not close to the pier, although i hear the weekends can be more packed. The property itself worked for us. It could use some updating and is a bit crowded for more than 3. You can also occasionally hear the upstairs residents. Overall we had what we needed and enjoyed our stay.

Easy access

Location of property made for easy walkable access to beach, shops, restaurants and grocery store. We enjoyed our walks at night from the condo to the shops or beach to enjoy the sunset. Our downstairs apartment was cozy and just enough size for the 3 of us. The adjustable king bed was comfy. Appreciated having a washer/dryer available. And also appreciated the beach chairs provided by the owner. The only downside was uncomfy chairs and couch for watching television in the main living area and the bedroom did not have a television.

Cathy was an awesome host! We were so close to the beach just a 5 min or less walk. The beach was really beautiful and really big (enough for me to do my daily runs!) The Octupus Lair will always hold a special place in our hearts because we got engaged on the beach 6/19/24 during our stay. it was absolutely perfect. The bed was super comfy and the futon was perfect for daily naps. The TV had a roku. There was a cute little backyard with a brand new outdoor patio set! There's a hose to wash off your feet after the beach right in the front and the parking is safe for your vehicles off the road. The washer and dryer were a great perk so i didn't have to pack as many gym clothes. 10/10 are going back (if she would have us!) -Amanda and Billy

Nice getaway!

This place was quaint and in a perfect location on the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our time!My only complaint would be that the futon needs upgraded for better comfort and the shower needed some TLC.
