We chose to stay in Oita one night before heading to Beppu to experience the onsen. This hotel is easy to find, as it's a straight shot on the main road from the station. The hotel was clean, quiet, had great amenities, and offered extra toiletries for women. The room was spacious compared to other similarly priced hotels in Japan, and the breakfast, which was in the restaurant attached to the hotel, was outstanding with many different options and regional specialties. Wonderful. I could've stayed an extra week!
I heard that most guests only pass through for a couple of days. What a shame! If you have the time or need a break from city life, this is a great spot. Cute treehouse-shaped cabins with a hammack. This is glamping, so - no widescreen TV, but the space is well heated and cooled by a wall unit, just like in most hotels or apartments.
Tucked into the mountains, the property runs along a river. You can stroll along a man-made walkway (right in the...

Very clean hotel right next to Oita station lots of shopping and food and easy travel but bus or train or foot . My fiance said the onsen was super nice and clean . Checking in and out very easy and fast all the staff super nice and friendly and very accommodating considering I don't speak Japanese. I have visited Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Oita for a little over a week in each city. Oita was by far my most enjoyable and relaxing city I have visited. All the people very friendly, highly recommend...

Great little place about a 10 minute walk from Oita station. Check out Cafe Giraffe just around the corner. Great cappuccino and honey almond toast bread with ice cream.
I enjoyed Beppu's Onsens (Myoban) but actually liked Oita the city a lot more. It's only about a 20 minute train ride to Beppu.

Amazing service and great facilities. We were lucky to be the only two in the house so it might get a little squishy when its full. Works great as a platform on the way to Takachiho Gorge from the Usuki ferry at night.
