This is our second time in this beautiful house on the ocean. The views are stellar with whales playfully splashing on the horizon. Our teens love the ping pong table, pool, and proximity to the beach. The house is just enough out of town to be private but an easy walk to amenities.

Authentic hacienda overlooking the ocean

My family of 5 (3 young adults and 2 parents) had a terrific week at Oscar's authentic hacienda overlooking a semi-private beach. The view when you walk up the stairs to see the covered patio and infinity pool overlooking the ocean is breathtaking. The property includes an indoor/outdoor kitchen that is maintained nicely. We asked to have the refrigerator stocked with food and drinks for our arrival and it was no problem. The air conditioners in each room made sleeping very comfortable. The house is a bit of a walk to the main town centre, and I highly recommend renting cruiser bikes from the rental shop in town ($10 per day). There are steps down to a beautiful beach with medium-sized waves good for body surfing. The town has a nice mix of friendly locals and expats. We would happily return.

Hidden Gem!!

We visited Troncones for our Spring Break trip with 3 of our friends family's. 16 people total, 8 kids, 8 adults (ages 5-10). This part of Mexico is so special and untouched and felt very safe. We loved the minimal tourism and the local feel of the town. The house was the best part. It was off the beaten path and had the most epic views of the beach and cove the house was located in. We loved all the common areas, especially the kitchen and giant dining table. The rooms were all good, beds were comfy, bathrooms great. It was a quick walk from the house to the beach which was empty the whole time we were there and had beautiful reef. It's just a short drive from town and there were so many great restaurants! I would for sure rent this house again. Things to note: the pool is 10ft all the way around which was an adjustment for new swimmers but overall fine.

Casa Playa Verde

This is a beautiful house with lots of space. Vacant lots on either side- hopefully it stays that way. Very private. The pool was nice- and the ocean is a small walk down the hill. Has a well equipped kitchen. Almost everything in the house worked. Had one maintenance concern that was addressed immediately. No one was there to greet us at check in, which was no big deal. Great communication with property manager thru email and WhatsApp. There is an 8' drop off on the deck beside kitchen which could be a concern for smaller kids. Pool is great, but very deep with no shallow spots- again could be a concern for toddlers. Overall, it was a great stay in a nice private setting with lots of room for larger groups- and good communication from property managers.

Even better than promised!

Too often, it seems, a place promises so much and doesn't deliver. Well, that certainly isn't the case here! My family - myself, husband and three daughters - spent eight days here in March 2018 and we were so enchanted we really didn't even bother to leave the premises much at all. We had so much room to spread out, the rooms were ever so comfortable, the pool was delightful - the diving rock was a huge hit with all of us - and the privacy of the beach was unparalleled.We spent our days meandering up and down the secluded beach, poking around in the rocks and using the on-site boogie boards to take advantage of those stellar waves. My twins dozed in the mid-level hammocks nearly every day and we spent hours in that pool. At night we went up to what we called the Game Room and did our jigsaw puzzles, caught up on Wifi necessities and just lounged with books and games. I mean, we had a great routine going on! Jesus and Veronica seemed to magically appear whenever we needed them and they took excellent care of us, from shopping in Zihua to cooking us dinner. Amazing! We are so grateful that we have found this place. We are already making plans to take some adult friends with us later in this year! Thank you for providing such a beautiful place in which to vacation!

Exceeded expectations

This house and the property far exceeded expectations- which is a very rare occurence. We found this house to be nearly perfect in every way. Plenty of space for a big crew, loved the open floor plan and the ease of access to a nearly private beach. I also loved that it was a bit away from town and was quiet, beautiful and a place one could be content spending the day without feeling they were "missing something", We will go back and this house is part of the reason. Thank you Oscar and I also appreciate how attentive you were before and during our stay.

Tranquility in Troncones

You could do no better than choosing to stay at Casa Playa Verde in Troncones on your next vacation!!! It is off and away from any traffic or tourists on the most amazing private cove/beach. The home allows for larger numbers of guests and is absolutely gorgeous!!! 🤙

An almost indescribable slice of paradise

We traveled to Casa Playa Verde with 14 family friends aged 1.5 - 48 and it was the perfect place to stage a surf and relaxation adventure. Jesus and Veronica made it warm and welcoming, from the moment we landed at the airport until our last wave goodbye. We asked Veronica to cook at least one meal a day and we would highly recommend her cooking to enhance your stay. The pool is incredible, the views are magical, the stars at night were breathtaking. Troncones is quaint and quiet and world-class surfing at La Saladita is only 25 minutes away by car. Overall, this is a one-of-a-kind vacation. Would recommend to adventurous families and friends. Thanks to Ed and Shelley for creating this amazing property and to Jesus and Veronica for taking such amazing care of it and of us!

Troncones in July

Troncones is a wonderful town. It had a great vibe and felt very safe. It offers a good mix of tourist friendly accommodations and authentic Mexican culture. It is not a resort town. However, if your looking for a slower pace in an authentic and beautiful location then this is a great spot. Troncones is an easy 30 minute drive from the airport in Zihuatanejo. It is also in easy driving distance from lots of activities including surf spots. Casa Carolina at Playa Verde is an amazing location. It feels fairly secluded because it is about a mile from town and sits above a cove/beach that is private to about 3 homes. A couple of local fisherman and some guests at one of the other homes were the only other people we saw on the beach. While we were there, the sandy part of the beach was small and it required walking over some cobble stones to get there. However, we didn't mind because it only guaranteed solitude. Apparently, the beach has a lot more sand during the winter months. The view from the home is incredible. It is better than the photos show!!! The home is open to the afternoon sea breeze and we found it to be quite comfortable. Many of us did not use AC at night. We would open the windows instead. We had 12 people in all (5 adults and 7 teenagers). We had plenty of room and the beds were comfortable. The home is nice and clean. There are a couple of minor wear and tear items but nothing that overrides the incredible location and open floor plan of the home. There are a couple of unprotected (no railings) spots around the pool and the home that we made sure everyone was aware of. It was not a problem with our group but I would be cautious with smaller children or any rough play in those areas. The best part of Casa Carolina is Jesus and Veronica. Jesus is easy to talk with, speaks perfect English, and is committed to taking care of the guests. I was in Troncones before our stay at Casa Carolina. My first interaction with him involved driving to the airport to meet some other friends and help them rent a car. Jesus was happy to meet with me before our stay at Casa Carolina and help make our stay enjoyable. He also arranged a fishing trip for us prior to our stay with him. Veronica is an excellent cook. She cooked several meals for us. Having Veronica prepare meals freed up more time to relax and enjoy activities. The owners (Shelley and Ed) were also easy to work with. They answered calls and were active in making sure our trip was perfect

A perfect vacation!!

If you are thinking about this home for your vacation, do not hesitate! It was glorious! Shelly was great to talk to and very reassuring. Full of great info and very cool. Jesus and Veronica really put the icing on this trip, he’s amazing! Anything we needed he was there for, plus his stories are great. Take time to get to know him, Veronica is an amazing chef!!! I preferred her cooking over any restaurant that we went. The house was really cool, all open space, the pool is just off the hook. Never seen sunsets quite like that. We can’t wait to book it again!

Authentic Mexican getaway

Our stay was incredibly relaxing but also fun and enjoyable. Our group included 10 people from three families - six adults and four kids (ages 9-17); we stayed fourteen nights. Jesus met us at the airport and helped us navigate a car rental and a taxi, transported our bags, and took some in our group to the Sepermercado for groceries (which met all our shopping needs). Without a doubt he made our stay easy by arranging any activities or answering all the questions we had. The house has a great open air community area and kitchen for gathering and making meals. We arranged to have Veronica prepare some meals, which was a must. It was really nice to have housekeeping six out of seven days and laundry done for us when needed. We spent our days around the fantastic pool enjoying the warm weather. The beach is incredibly private and has plenty of waves - great for surfing. The surfers in our group are beginners and Jesus helped us arrange an instructor to take them in town. We were always on the lookout for whales, dolphins, pelicans, and other wildlife. Most days we drove into town for fresh tortillas from the tortillaria, to attend yoga, grab a beer, or get fresh shrimp from the seafood truck. We absolutely loved the sleepy, safe, authenticity of Troncones and found it had everything we needed and more. Our group rarely returns to the same warm weather destination twice but is seriously considering a return to Troncones in 2019. Maxi Tubo!!!

Beyond our expectations

I'm still dreaming on it, the view, the pool, the acces to the beach, the garden, the kitchen, the rooms, everything was beyond, the beach its almost virgin, the are a lot of sealife, we saw dolphins very close, and the stars at night...speechless.. well this villa is perfect for the nature lovers who still like hot showers.... we have a great time, we definitly recommend Casa Playa Verde, its beautiful, Jesus and Vero were very helpful, thanks for having us!

We love the place !!

Our families all stayed here and it was everything we dreamed it would be. Beach was quiet, pool was magnificent, very clean rooms, Jesus and Veronica were amazing and took care of anything we needed. Veronica was an amazing cook and kept everything so clean. Jesus took care of setting up anything we needed ( horseback riding, shopping, swimming with dolphins, Fishing boats, airport transportation, suggestions for any activities or places to go). It was such a pleasure having them with us this week!! Ed and Shelly were great and very easy to work with. We will be coming back. Not very often we go back to the same place, but this will be a annual trip. Thank you for sharing this amazing property for our amazing family memories.

Terrible service. Not what they advertise. Dirty rooms, linens & towels. Only 4 rooms, not 5.

We did not enjoy staying at Casa Carolina. The service was terrible. Veronica and Jesus had a terrible attitude towards us, charging more than the service they delivered. We gave them the money to buy groceries and after 4 hours of shopping for the groceries, we called Jesus and madly asked how long he took to come back (since he left at 9am, it was 1pm and we had no groceries whatsoever), he said two more hours.... Jesus returned at 3pm only with the fish and shrimp. After this, they refused to serve and cook us any longer. He even left our fish and shrimp in the freezer (we had to give it away to someone else because we did not wish to cook it ourselves). The last and 3rd day they did not clean up the house and they only returned to charge us the service of the first night and the breakfast. Although we did not have a good experience the house has a magnificent view, pool and deck.

Great multi-family spot

We had 5 families (10 adults & 11 kids) at Casa Carolina and had a blast. It really does feel like a private bay. Jesus & Veronica are on site and were great. They took care of our shopping, food prep & clean-up, and were there to help out in any way. A big thanks to them! It was like a private all-inclusive. The house has 4 enclosed bedrooms with one being the "great room" with two doubles and two top bunks. Those 4 rooms have AC which we appreciated. The "hanging beds" didn't work for us. They are outside in the entrance area in front of the parked cars. But it wasn't a big deal. We just moved one of those queen mattresses into the great room and 2 families shared that space (lots of space in there). The pool is unbelievable...but you can see that in the pictures. The kids loved the rock diving board. The beach out front is perfect for kids to boogie board. All sand. The direction of the swell didn't line up for great surf for the adults (all close-outs), but you can see with the proper swell directions, there would be a longer running left or a more defined right. We still had fun catching some quick ones out there though in between trips out to the main breaks in the area. The village of Troncones is a quick drive away (mostly dirt road) and has lots to offer for restaurants (often with live music), treats (ice cream & shaved ice), and groceries/supplies. Amazing Place

8 of us stayed at Casa Carolina for a week and it was a wonderful experience. The house is great, you have your own private beach, and the pool is huge. The house is very secluded and the town is small but full of friendly people and great restaurants. Jesus and Veronica are extremely kind and helpful and will make your stay a great time.

Spring Break Family Fun

We loved Troncones and the local flavor of the town. We were two families with kids aged 6, 11 & 13 & 14 and stayed over Spring break. The town has a great vibe, not overflowing with tourists. The surfing was ok, think the waves were a bit big for our kids.. heard the waves were bigger than usual. We enjoyed fishing with Antonio and all the kids caught something. We had an amazing lunch at Martha’s where she cooked up our SkipJack. We hiked almost daily behind the house and LOVE that view! The guys tried some fishing down at the rocks below the hike after seeing how popular it was with the locals. We had a great breakfast at Cafe Pacifico and super fun night at Robertos for turtle watching, dinner and dancing with the kids! The highlight, of course was Veronica’s delicious meals. She made a great range of classics that allowed our kids to sample authentic Mexican cuisine. Of course, having Jesus with his perfect english was a huge part of our stay. He even helped arrange a fun local birthday for my son with a pinanta and locally made caramel flan. Casa Carolina is such a beautiful home. It is obvious that Carolyn thought of every details when she designed it. We especially loved the open air design, amazing pool and the yoga deck! The kids spent countless hours playing in the SPECTACULAR pool and we just really didn't want to leave. The beautiful sunsets became ritual as we toasted each beautiful day. Thank you Carolyn for sharing your beautiful home, we hope to return soon.

Gorgeous beachfront house

End of Year in Casa Carolina

We stayed in Casa Carolina for 8 days during the end of year holidays in 2012. two families with a total of 5 kids ranging in ages from 17 to 10. Our stay exceed all expectations. If you are looking for secluded, yet comfortable this is the place. House is about a 10 minute drive on dirt road from Troncones, far away to have complete privacy yet close enough to go out and get any of the basics or even dinner. Our plan was mostly about enjoying the privacy and cooking most of our meals. The kitchen and the equipment is superb. The house has most of the basic condiments required. The beach is absotely spectacular and an easy 1 minute walk down from the house. Shell hunting, swimming or just relaxing were all on the daily routine. Back in the house the pool and deck area are great, although maybe a couple more sunchairs are needed. The rooms met all of our expectations. with comfortable beds, netting and well appointed bathrooms. We took our dog on the vacation and it had a blast. House is fenced and security is fine. As the owner lists, the house is off the grid so all electricity is self generated. This forced some welcome discipline on our normal behavior around electricity use. Finally, Jesus and Veronica, the caretakers were very helpful, providing advice and making sure that housekeeping was up to par. We will surely be coming back to Casa Carolina in the future

AWESOME!

We just returned from a two week vacation @ the magnificent Casa Carolina! We can hardly wait to go back! It is such a secluded and relaxing place, while not being too far from anything you need. The house is gorgeous and the layout is open, spacious and quiet. The ocean waves and breeze are intoxicating. Juana's Mexican cooking is the best! Yoga on the deck, or yoga anywhere on the property, it really does not get better! John's local surf expertise, as well as his knowledge of everything local, is a bonus. It was our first trip to Mexico and we fell in love with the country! This is a vacation property that everyone must experience!!

Can't Wait to Go Back!

Most incredible place on Earth!! It is an absolute paradise, waking up each morning to the ocean in your front yard and a beautiful mountain scenery behind you. Best location, could not ask for a better place to be, completely in the middle of no where. You have to drive on a dirt road that is very bumpy, but quite the adventure! The weather is perfect and there is an infinity pool you can cool off in at any time (not to mention you can watch surfers while enjoying a cocktail in the pool!!!) There is also a ping pong table downstairs that we got much enjoyment out of. Whether watching from the hammock or drinking at the bar it was also fun to watch the heated competition. We had a large group of about 18 people and it was very comfortable for all of us, with plenty of beds and shelf space! So many fun outdoor activities, we went hiking through the trails around the house, explored all the beautiful shells on the beach, and we always did yoga at sunset on the top deck, which was an absolutely incredible experience. You must go and experience it for yourself to truly appreciate the beauty of it! I cannot wait to go back and relive the best days of my life!!!
