Amazing property and amazing stay.
I loved everything about this home. The other reviews speak about all of the positives, so I’m not going to rehash those. Just know that the beach is great. The pool is great. The rooms are great. The staff is wonderful. The food was phenomenal. It was one of the most relaxing stays that I have ever had. If you want some negatives, I’ll give you two - there were a lot of bugs (welcome to a tropical island) and the road to get there was pretty trash (welcome to Jamaica). These were really minor blips in an otherwise amazing stay.

Absolute relaxation
Our group of 8 adults were looking for a total relaxation vacation and we got it with staying at this villa. An absolute wonderful and beautiful home with amazingly attentive staff members that made the most delicious food. Randy was wonderful and checked on us regularly and always offered to make us a drink to help us continue our relaxation vacation. Highly recommend this villa for an amazing vacation!

Authentic Jamaica
We love Jamaica. So, I booked this villa for my husband's birthday because I knew we would have a real experience. It's owned by locals and run by locals, which is important to me. When we arrived, we were greeted by the entire staff and they said "Welcome Home". I was suffering from motion sickness and the staff immediately escorted me to my room, turned on the ac, even made me tea. So attentive. The staff took care of our every need. They were warm, inviting and a pleasure to be around. Very nice people. We ate amazing authentic Jamaican food. The villa, views, ocean, wildlife, fresh seafood and general vibe was so awesome. Thank you to Ms. Bev, Randy, Ms. Donna, Phillip and the security guards. The only thing I could complain about is the mosquitoes! They ate us alive lol.

Tranquility at its best!
Out of the Blue Villa is out of this world comfortable and absolutely beautiful. The support staff are amazing and kind. The food was fantastic and the location is exactly what we’re looking for. Off the beaten path and quiet with a nice beach. Can’t wait to go back!

Unwind and Recharge in Paradise
We have been to Jamaica 20+ times and stayed all over the island. This was out 2nd stay on the south coast; the 1st was on an all-inclusive resort. We've stayed in a number of villas during our travels to Jamaica and this one bets them all. The pictures of Out of the Blue villa on vrbo are EXACTLY what it looks like in person. The "public" beach - I say public because it is technically a public beach - is really a private beach. It's sandy all along the shoreline for walking and the ocean floor is all sand too. The staff was amazing and found outstanding. They were available when needed but gave us our space. Miss Bev's fried chicken and coleslaw are out of this world. We are huge fans of the local food and Miss Bev did not disappoint. The property manager connected us with a local driver who has worked with the property for some time which was appreciated. We thought we might do a couple of offsite excursions but we honestly didn't want to leave. There are games, ping pong, TV, books, internet available for guests. This is definitely not the hip strip in Mo Bay so if that's your vibe, then the south coast is not for you. If you're truly looking to unplug and reconnect with family and friends, there is no better place. We cannot wait to go back.

The staff was amazing! I couldn’t ask for a better since of family with Randy and Bev, both were very friendly and accommodating! Donna was very nice as well, just quieter. They made the experience that much more amazing to an already perfect villa! Secluded and beautiful views! Roomy and just everything was perfect! 😀

Beautiful property, awesome staff
My family of four stayed for five nights and had a very relaxing time. The house is beautiful and staff is wonderful. We ate every meal at the house and only left for one excursion. I appreciated the other reviews highlighting that the house is a solid 2.5-hour drive from the airport, so we were prepared for that. Overall, a great vacation!

Magical beach side property
The property was magical and the staff greated us warmly and arranged for all our meals. The property is right on the beach and we saw dolphins and stingrays jump out of the water. We took the 2 kayaks out around the nearby nature preserve and stopped at a few tiny Beaches, where we saw crabs, octopus, sea cucumber, fish and other creatures. On another occasion we walked just a bit down the beach to some tidal pools where we watched the sunset. When we didn't want to go out to the ocean we could relax in the pool on the property. And all the meals were delicious. We had a wonderful time and the staff made it even better. We would definitely stay here again

Beautiful Home!
The home is absolutely beautiful! I've never rented outside of the US and was a little apprehensive, but I'm so glad I did! The bedrooms are beautiful and each have their own bathroom. The view from everywhere in the home is perfect. We loved spending our time outside on the patio, in the pool, and on the beach. The staff is wonderfully attentive. The ride from the airport is long, but it is worth it. Definitely hire Ranny!

Peaceful Paradise
Our stay at Out of the Blue was serene and the views were beautiful! The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff attended to all of our needs and ensured we had delicious meals and an ample supply of rum punch! The powder-sand beach was just a few steps away from the house and the pool was great for lounging and cooling off after soaking up the sun. We spent lots of time under the pavilion playing games, napping and relaxing. It was a wonderful stay, and we look forward to returning!

Beautiful Property on a Secluded Beach
Out of the Blue Villa is truly a unique property. It is a stunning home that sits on a stretch of beach that will seem almost deserted during your stay. It is rare to find a home if this quality and craftsmanship directly on a swimmable beach. We are a family of five with three teen sons who were seeking a quiet spot devoid of tourists and crowds to enjoy family time during these unusual times. Out of The Blue delivered on this in spades. If you are looking to truly unplug and just relax then this is the spot for you. The staff of Out of the Blue will take good care of you and make you feel truly "at home". Its important to point out what this vacation will not be. Its not an easy spot to get to. We ended up being delayed and had to do the drive from MBJ to Treasure Beach at night. It is an over 2 hour drive on a very windy road that is riddled with massive pot holes. Ranny does an excellent job navigating the journey and it does make the destination feel even more special and remote. Remember that it is this journey that keeps Treasure Beach uncrowded and unique. Excursions are limited and involve 45-60 min drives or boat rides. We went to YS falls and Appleton with Ranny on one excursion and Pelican bar and Black River on a boat for another. YS falls is beautiful and worth the trip through the countryside. Appleton felt very touristy and while interesting would not recommend for families. When we arrived at Pelican Bar there was no one there (including staff) which was fine by us as we weren't looking to drink and just there to experience the novelty of a bar in the middle of the ocean. The Black River was pretty but wildlife was not as abundant as we would have hoped. We saw two alligators and a few different species of birds. All in all the only excursion that I would highly recommend would be YS falls and maybe Black River. While we enjoyed all of the food we were served its important to point out that the staff is somewhat limited in what they can access. We were surprised that there wasn't more access to fresh seafood outside of lobster which seem to be in abundance and the use of packaged products (salad dressing, bread, juices) was common. Bev makes hearty, simple and satisfying Jamaican dishes like Aakee and Salt Fish, Jerk Chicken and Pork, Corn Meal Porridge, etc. Again, this is not a "gourmet" destination so just keep that in mind. TIP- Bring lots of US Cash (2K+) for tips, excursions, ranny, etc. You WILL need it.

Secluded Paradise
There are not enough good things to say about this property and it’s staff. I was familiar with this area of Jamaica as I’d lived there for a short period but even to me, this house and its perfect location were a surprise. We were collected at the airport by the driver recommended by the property who could not have been kinder in looking after myself and my elderly parents as we waited for the rest of our family to arrive. He also made everyone feel safe on what is for those who are not familiar, a very challenging drive from the airport and was very flexible in taking us around during our stay. After the drive, we received a very warm welcome from the house’s staff and sat right down to a delicious dinner. The house is spectacular! Beautifully lit with indoor/outdoor living at its best. Everything about the house felt very well planned out and convenient. The perfect lounging pool as close to the beach and ocean as you can imagine. Every night we were lulled to sleep with a full belly thanks to Ms Bev’s incredible cooking and the sounds of the sea crashing on the shore and every morning we woke to a delicious pot of coffee prepared by Carlton which we enjoyed by the pool as we watched both the fisherman and the pelicans do their work at sea. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. Randy went above and beyond in facilitating our requests and answering our questions, Phillip was always busy around the house making sure we were taken care of, Ms Donna was incredibly sweet and snuck in and out of our rooms to tidy and prep them for the night or the day before we even noticed; always making sure they were nice and cool for bedtime. Carlton kept us safe at night and made sure everything was prepped for the day while the rest of the staff was at home for the night and we devoured every single meal Ms Bev put in front of us. You could tell it was always a team effort and we couldn’t have been more pleased by their excellent service. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience, we will definitely be back!

The property was great. Just like the pictures show. Lovely house with a nice pool and a beautiful beach. The staff was excellent! Randy made great drinks, took care of booking tours and so much more. Bev’s cooking was amazing. One person in our party has a terrible gluten allergy and they made sure she was taken care of. Donna helped take care of so much as well. For dessert be sure and ask for the banana rum. Ronnie was always on time picking us up. Can’t imagine getting around without him. Also need mention Tyrone. He is not a staff of the property but is who Randy booked us with to take us snorkeling and finishing. He will pick you up by boat right at the beach at the house. Great prices for excursions. We seldom go back to the same place twice, but I do see us returning to this property in the near future.

Beautiful home!
The home is beautiful, right on the beach with a wonderful patio and pool that is just steps away. All of the staff is fantastic, with a special thank you to Randy, who made our four kids more smoothies in one week than he probably makes all year :) Miss Bev’s cooking was fantastic for every meal, Donna was so sweet and helpful and Carlton made the house feel safe each night and we woke up to a tidy home and great pot of coffee each day. The drive to the property is a bit of a trek (2.5 hours on a weekday, we made it to the airport in almost 2 hours on a weekend morning) but worth it. We are already planning our return trip in the not doing distant future. Thank you to Kate and her staff for their hospitality!

Amazing Bday Vacay
Out of the Blue Villa and the staff far exceeded our expectations. Everything from the booking process, villa, villa grounds, service, food, and staff was fantastic. the drive to the house is long and bumpy - we recommend drinks to make the drive more fun. Ranny, the driver, was wonderful. Jamaican hospitality is abundant here. Every need/want was met before we even thought about it. We were able to relax and enjoy our time with no worries and we always felt completely safe. Our only cautions would be to stay away from 100 proof and eat the scotch bonnet peppers sparingly. (Ask Randy -LOL!) All of us agree that we would love to return to this villa in this wonderful island paradise. Don't hesitate, just go!

Amazing is an understatement
From the moment we arrived, greeted by the seabreeze, breathtaking views and a cold glass of lemonade, our stay at Out of the Blue was impeccable. The staff treated us like family. Ms. Donna and Ms. Bev felt like my aunties. Ms. Bev's food... "cyann miss" (that's patio for amazing). Lobster pot is a must have. Randy's drinks, kept flowing. Ranny and Mark, our drivers, took good care of us. Had an amazing time at YS Falls and Pelican Bar. Our every need and wants were met. We didn't want to leave. Take me back!

Heaven on the South Coast of Jamaica
When you say the pictures do not do it justice, you can't even begin to imagine how beautiful it is. The house, the beach, the property and most importantly, THE PEOPLE! Miss Bev, Randy, Donna, Phillip and Carlton made an incredible place absolutely extraordinary. If you like a calm secluded beach, this is the place for you. Want to venture out and go on a hike, just ask Randy and he will show you the way to some of the most secluded beautiful places you will ever see. We will definitely be back soon.

SIMPLY THE BEST...
This property took our breath away! We were a group of 7 - 2 adults and 5 teen kids - vacationing in Jamaica for the first time. This villa was absolutely perfect for allowing the adults and children the ability to spread out and not be in each other's way but also be able to join together in the magnificent pool, lovely beach and for each meal. I am afraid that this review will not even do it justice but I will point out some of the highlights that make this such a special place... 1. Location in Jamaica is very tranquil and quiet - not touristy at all. The area is known for that laid back Jamaican vibe. 2. Perfect place to literally unwind and do NOTHING. If that is your idea of the best kind of vacay... then this is your spot. You can certainly sign up for excursions, but please note that everything is at least 1 1/2 hours van ride away at minimum. 3. This villa has multiple places to lounge both inside and out to allow you to find that "perfect spot" to read, sunbathe, nap and enjoy your drinks. 4. STAFF, STAFF, STAFF.... Bev, Donna, Randy, Phillip, and Carlton exceeded all of our expectations daily. They are friendly and attentive but never in your way. They made delicious meals (even for some very picky teens), wonderful rum drinks, washed our clothes and made our beds every single day. They pampered us and allowed us to truly relax and take away the stresses of "where does everyone want to go eat tonight?". 5. This villa is ON the beach. In fact, it is pretty much your own private beach as we only saw maybe 3-5 people a day in our area. The water is beautiful with fun waves to boogie board and play in. It is not a great snorkelling spot so for those that that is super important, I would just be aware. 6. There are numerous non-water things to do at the villa as well... many books on the bookshelf, movies, board games, large jenga blocks, life-size connect four game, and ping pong. 7. Wi-fi is great in the living area but who wants to be on their phones when they can enjoy the sunshine? 8. Bring cash.... in fact, I would bring twice as much as you think as there is literally no one that takes credit cards other than in Montego Bay. You will need to pay the staff in cash for your groceries and alcohol. You will need cash to tip the staff. You will need cash for your van ride to and from the villa. And you will need cash for most every excursion except for the big places like YS Falls. Cash is king in Jamaica.

I'm a world traveller and so are the people I was with on this trip to Jamaica. From yurts in the high desert to the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris, I glide between true adventure travel and high luxury and lots of points in-between. I'm SEASONED. So when I say that Out of the Blue Villa is a gem and a secret I'd like to keep just for my friends and family, I mean it. It is actually better than the photos and little drone video. It's gorgeous. The bay is safe to swim, not a lot of wild life or fish, it's like nature's giant pool --- in front of the property's pool. The staff is great. The town is WONDERFUL. I can't recommend Treasure Beach or St Elizabeth enough. I resent that I don't in fact live there and that we ever had to leave. The staff lead by Donna and Bev take such good care of you. You're so safe you feel silly for even questioning if you would ever be unsafe. It's paradise. Go if you can. It will be the trip of a lifetime. Outdoor showers, ocean swims, Ting and vodka soda, dinners of fresh seafood, the sounds of waves at night, and sunsets from the swings. It's wonderful. If you have to work (I did for a few hours) the internet is exceptional. If you have dietary needs, they can accommodate. Take your sunscreen, a good book, and some flippers and just leave the world behind. 5 stars, blue ribbon, A+

Magical and Safe Rejuvenation
Like most of the world, we needed a safe and gentle place to start to heal from or get a break from recent world events. We chose Out of the Blue because it’s a Villa (so fewer people have been through it) and, after speaking with Kate, it was clear they took the pandemic and precautions very seriously. Immediately upon arrival it was clear my family was not only safe but that it was the perfect place to be pampered while we enjoyed the magical house, pool, beach, food and staff. There is not a single thing that could have been improved on. The setting is stunning and the quiet beach gently washed away the events of 2020. The staff took every precaution to ensure we were safe from COVID (even though there have been no cases in the surrounding area at all). We didn’t lift a finger while they made us scrummy drinks and fabulous food. The kids had so much freedom to roam and play without us worrying about “social distancing”. We were really nervous absolutely traveling and nearly cancelled our vacation. I’m so glad we didn’t. This is exactly what we needed as a family and we will be using our memories from this magical place to help us get through whatever else 2020 is going to throw at us. We will DEFINITELY be back. This is our new “place”.

Wonderful Stay
We enjoyed our stay, and especially the kind staff. Everything was perfection. We didn't really enjoy the long commute from the Montego Bay airport, but once we arrived we really enjoyed it. The pool was chilly (not heated) but very clean. A few things needed attention i.e., broken pool chair, stained sofa, stained bed coverlet--but all in all, a very nice stay.

Thank you so much for your suggestions, Terese! We will immediately address the items that you note require attention and ensure we conduct a full inventory of the Villa to identify any other issues. The commute from Montego Bay is long (2.5 hours) but the distance from the airport means guests enjoy a very quiet (non-touristy) taste of "old-Jamaica". Many guests choose to charter a private plane or helicopter to travel to the Villa (which can be done at a surprisingly reasonable price). Nevertheless, the trip over land to the Villa is stunningly beautiful through the rainforest and tiny villages. There is no better way to see and learn about this incredibly country! The trip passes quickly as there is so much to see.

Family Vacation
this was our third visit to this beautiful place. The whole week was wonderful, the staff are like family and do everything they can to ensure everyone is well looked after. The villa is so wonderful and comfortable, our most favorite place is the thatch living and dining area. we lived in the pool, only getting out to eat the delicious fresh meals. Bev, Randy and Donna were marvelous as they have always been, nice to meet Phillip and Carlton, the team is fantastic. we will be back again as soon as we can!

Amazing Family Vacation
We had an amazing family vacation at the Out of the Blue Villa. The house is beautiful and the staff was wonderful. It was perfect being right on the ocean and also having our own private pool. Our only concerned when we booked this place was the 2+hour drive from airport in Montego Bay, but this place was worth the drive. Thank you!

WOW! One of the most memorable trips to date
Take me back! What an incredible week spent with friends and their families. Upon entering the house we were floored. Such a beautiful and well maintained property. Views of the ocean from everywhere and a very thoughtful open air concept throughout the house. The staff were who really made our trip extra special. Bev, Randy, Donna, Phillip, and Carlton were so thoughtful, kind, and attentive, without being overbearing. And man can Bev cook! So incredible. Our kids loved everyone as well. Donna took the time to color with one of the kids which melted our hearts. Phillip and Donna also gave the kids a beautiful huge shell to take home as a memento. The kids talked about it the whole trip home. We will certainly miss Treasure Beach and the staff but are already talking about our next trip back.

A great family, memory-making vacation spot
We enjoyed a piece of paradise. The surroundings were gorgeous, and the home was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. I could use many more adjectives to describe the beauty of this place, but truly the lasting impressions we will carry with us from this vacation is the staff. They were so caring, accommodating and delightful to get to know. Great memories were made here with our family. We will cherish this week forever. The only issue we had was it was quite a drive to reach this paradise.

Holiday if a lifetime!
What a villa, what a team, what a holiday! Such an amazing experience, which is exactly what this place gives you - a total experience. The villa is absolutely fantastic with all of the amenities you can desire. The team there however are something else. The food, cleaning and Randy's cocktails will make your holiday something to remember.

Amazing!
The house was beyond beautiful. The pool/beach were perfect. The staff was fantastic. We recommend the Lobster Pot for dinner one night, the Pelican Bar, and definitely YS Falls. The drive to the house is worth it!

Wonderful relaxing week in a beautiful setting
My son called it an A+ vacation and the rest of the family agreed. Lovely comfortable home, great staff, nice beach and away from all the tourist crowds. We played in the ocean, visited YS Falls, swam at Pelican Bar, and two of my sons used scooters to tour the area. More importantly we spent great family time playing games, laughing, talking and eating Miss Bev's great food. Loved it and hope to return.

Rock Star Living
We have always referred to Out of the Blue as the "Rock Star House". Our second visit to OTB proved to be better than the first, 5 years ago. The addition of Carlton, aka the "doorman" and Phillip have made the staff of the house even better yet. One never needs to feel worried about your safety here at the house or in Great Bay. Put it on your bucket list, well worth every penny.

Beautiful house. Beautiful people. It started as a vacation last -- now its just like going home. The location is spectacular - but the people of Treasure Beach/Great Bay are even better. The Out of the Blue staff is family - and we miss them all the minute we leave. We WILL be back.

Almost hate to post this...
So no one else finds out about this property. What would we change about our trip? Nothing - other than bringing our son & daughter who were in college. Miss Bev, Donna, Randy, Carlton and Phillip - the "staff" - well... they are now family. Couldn't have asked for better people to spend the week with - not to mention everything was delicious and refreshing and extremely well done. The house. Perfectly laid out, comfortable, beautifully decorated. Changes needed? None. The property. Secluded, natural beauty in an unbelievably gorgeous Great Bay. If you want touristy, "busy", really easy to get to areas --- This is not for you. If you want total relaxation and beauty. This is it. I could go on - but as someone stated in an earlier review - stop thinking - just book it. Best overall vacation we've ever had -- and we've had some really great ones. Thanks to Kate and the owners for creating this place and allowing us to visit -- and a special THANK YOU and we miss you to our new family from Great Bay.
