ほとんどの事は良かったが、場所が分かりにくい。普通の一軒家に見えるので、ナビが無いと行きにくい。

日本で言う民宿スタイルの宿屋であるが、様々な要求に応えてくれた。一つは、夜遅く町に着いたが、どこも店が開いていなく夕食を食べられなかった。その事を話したら、簡単にすぐ作ってくれた。また、ロトルアの民族舞踊を観たいと話したら、インターネットで色々と調べてくれた。英語が上手く話せなかったがとてもフレンドリーに接してくれた。温かい宿屋である。

I made a booking on the wotif site and paid in full for a non refundable room., the property would have received notification of my booking and payment. At 8pm on the day of check-in, out of courtesy I rang the property to let them know, I am in Tokoroa and on my way over. The owner said, "Sorry but I have closed my business down and you can't stay here" So that was pretty bad that they had a live listing, selling rooms, taking money but not in business. When it would have been so easy to phone Wotif and remove your business. Instead you left us stranded, with no where to sleep, and 1 and a half hours on the phone with wotif trying to find us a room, which ended up being in the next township. No compassion shown by the host at all.

Bottom-end B&B with pleasant and friendly hosts. Good breakfast. Only issue is bathroom too far from bedroom and shower no good.

Friendly hosts, convenient location

Friendly efficient service. The hosts couldn't do enough for us. Easy to find central location. Comfortable rooms. We are going back.

Very clean and tidy

Felt very welcome and very nice hosts. Unfortunately there was a problem with the shower. Very hard to get temp right, But there is a second one if it's not right for you. Maybe will be fixed by then. Would recommend, as they made you feel so welcome and at home.

Tokoroa town.

Very comfortable room,nicely set out. Very friendly, helpful hosts who cooked us a delicious, full breakfast. The only negative is no ensuite and having to go downstairs to the bathroom.

The hosts were very nice, friendly people who made sure we were comfortable. The only small negative comment I can make is that the guest shower was a tad glitchy. They were very accommodating for my father who was having troubles with a colder climate ( we come from the tropics of Darwin Australia) and offered their private bathroom so that he would be warmer for his showers.

An odd experience

Though it is quite cheap, the house is not in amazing condition. It was probably nice 20 years ago but it hasn't changed since. While the hosts are lovely, you don't really feel at home in their living room. You feel like an intruder in a stranger's house and you share a bathroom with the the other guests/ the hosts. It also seemed to be quite an effort for them to serve the breakfast we wanted. There is nothing to do in the town and no decent food joints either.

Amazing Place

Our stay was awesome. Location was good. House was clean and pretty, very homey. The couple who owns the place were very accomodating and nice. Plus the breakfast was amaaaaazing!!!!

2-day Tokoroa solo trip

My room was in the small cottage with a portaloo in the backyard. Shared bathrooms are in the family house. Friendly hosts prepared cooked breakfast each day and allowed me to cook dinner and prepare sandwiches in the morning. The local shops are 1.5kms away. Unfortunately the local Cougar Mtb track was soaked and muddy so I drove to Rotorua each day. Good value for money

Friendly place to stay.

Very friendly hosts. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast excellent. This is a no frills but clean and comfortable establishment.

Uncomfortable Location

Beside the friendly owners of the Bed & Breakfast the rooms are old fashioned, uncomfortable beds and not very clean rooms ( in the bed were hairs). The bathroom had a lot of spider webs. On the floor we found some dead insects. Not to recommend!!!

Quiet and comfortable

We were happy with our choice. Only a few minutes from the main township, but location was in a nice quiet street. Our hosts were wonderful, friendly and it was a nice homely atmosphere.

Det här är inget hotell utan ett bed and breakfast i en vanligt villa i ett villaområde. Dusch och garageinfart delas med familjen och andra boenden. Värdparet är mycket trevligt och mån om gästerna. Felet är att det marknadsförs som ett hotell vilket det inte är. Priset är alldeles för högt i förhållande till vad utlovas och erbjuds.

Home from home

The room was adjoining the owner's main lounge but did not have any direct toilet facility. It was necessary to go down stairs to one of the two wash/shower rooms for wash or toilet. Difficult to do quietly when having a call of nature during the night. Would have preferred a facility with its own toilet area (similar to motel). Owners were very friendly and chatty. The whole experience was that it felt very homely.

Hello Peter, Many thanks for your review. I am so sorry about the toilet and the position of it. Would love to have one put in the room , unfortunately I am not sure whether it is possible due to its location. Apart from that being a little noisy doesn't worry us that much as we are heat sleepers.

Tokoroa overnight stop

The owners were very nice and friendly however the condition of the property wasn't the best. The shower leaked badly and had not been well installed and the shelf for the TV was coming off the wall. The breakfast was great though. Overall OK for a night or two only. You will also need a satnav to find it and the sign is very small.

That is a really lovely place to stay. Owners are very welcoming and kind. We'll definitely stay again if conditions arise.

Easy to find, very comfortable and clean.

We arrived late afternoon. Cup of tea on arrival. Were very helpful to suggest places to visit in the local area. Room was very pleasant, comfortable and spotless. Lovely breakfast, choice of continental or full cooked breakfast.

NOT a hotel -- stay away!!!

This place is not a hotel. It's just the house of an older couple. And as nice as they are, this is somewhere in between false advertising and a plain old scam. We booked the double room, which doesn't say "shared bathroom" in the title or the confirmation, but does say "detached private bathroom" if you click on "room information". In reality, it's not private by any stretch of the imagination -- first there's nothing preventing any other guests or the hosts themselves using the same bathroom. Second, you go to the restroom down the stairs, through the living room, in which the hosts sit in, so not much of privacy. Oh, and you're asked to take your shoes off before entering the house, so you get to walk in the public areas of the "hotel", including the bathroom, in your socks or barefoot. 24-hour fitness center and spa tub, I have no clue what these could be. 3.5 stars is probably something the hosts awarded themselves. All these “details” contribute to the pretense that this place is a hotel. By far the most ridiculous "hotel" experience I've had in my life. Stay away!

Good stay

Bruce and Ruthie are a nice couple and you will feel homely and safe at this place. However, the bedsheets in the room were not clean from the earlier night. Overall, hygienic conditions were below par.

Not what it is cracked up to be

This is a home stay with a lovely retired couple as your hosts. They are very welcoming and can't do enough for you but some of the facilities on the accomodation information on hotels.com site are not correct. For example it states that there is a 24 hour fitness facility. Well there is if you go to a local gym. Be prepared to share a bathroom with the other guests. The shuttle service is the owner driving you places in his car. The description of the accomodation was a little deceiving but at least it was dry, clean and acceptable.

Awesome value, great people

We were looking for an overnight stay prior to attending a 6 hour mountain bike event. Got everything we were after at a great price, and better still a breakfast that powered us through the whole day. Great value, and lovely hosts. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely people and great value B&B

Although listed as a Hotel this lovely little B&B was fantastic value for $25! I had a great nights sleep and in the morning a huge breakfast. Very kind couple - thanks.

Since Mr Clarke was an ex member of the police force in Dunedin it was a great pleasure to offer him the hospitllity we both think he deserves, even though we had thought his booking was for one of our main rooms, not the backpackers where there is no breakfast offered.
