We just about managed to reach the summit ( 2,930 m) of Indonesia's most active & explosive volcano of Mt.Merapi to catch this beautiful sunrise and heavenly cloud inversion.

#AboveItAll
#Indonesia #Yogyakarta #merapi

Considered to be sacred by the locals, Mount merapi is the most active volcano in Indonesia located in the border of Central #Java and the city of Yogyakarta. It has erupted regularly since 1548 with the most recent eruption occured on 18th November 2013. While considered as a tourist attraction nowadays, the danger of eruptions are still a possibility so always check on government warnings and alerts before visiting.

The path up to the #mountain can only be accessed with all-terrain jeeps which are rented at the base of the mountain for around 300-400 thousand rupiah which includes a driver. Also there aren't much trees or covers along the way up so don't forget to bring sunscreen and sunglasses or you will more likely be burned by the sun rather than the lava :)
now they call this place "museum puing merapi"
