Long Cove Retreat – Two Cottages, One Waterfront Escape
Welcome to Long Cove Retreat, where two neighboring cottages, Seegar Camp and Lindquist Cottage, come together to create a private waterfront getaway for up to eight guests. With three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a versatile loft, this retreat offers the perfect blend of space, comfort, and privacy for families and groups traveling together.
Fully renovated in 2025, set on one acre with 200 feet of private shoreline, Long Cove Retreat is a true nature oasis. Beautifully landscaped grounds, shaded sitting areas, and Adirondack chairs invite you to relax and soak in the views. A tanning and relaxing platform overlooks the water and shoreline - perfect for lounging, sunbathing, or enjoying the sea breeze. Evenings are best spent around the fire pit or dining al fresco on one of the two private decks, each overlooking the sparkling cove. With parking for up to four cars, the retreat is as convenient as it is secluded.
Seegar Camp features two queen bedrooms on the main level, a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a cozy living and dining area with sweeping water views. The loft offers extra sleeping space with a trundle bed (two twins), plus a large TV, sectional, games, and a quiet spot for working or relaxing. A wall-hung unit in the loft provides air conditioning and heating, while wood paneling and a wood stove add classic Maine charm.
Lindquist Cottage is a studio-style retreat with a king bed, large bathroom, and kitchenette equipped with essentials like a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and French press. A drop-leaf table, sitting area, and side deck provide perfect nooks for relaxing and enjoying the view. A wall-hung unit keeps the cottage comfortable year-round.
Together, the cottages comfortably sleep up to eight guests, with modern updates, thoughtful details, and plenty of room to gather or spread out. Shared stairs lead down to the private shoreline, where you can swim, launch a paddleboard, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the water’s edge. While kayaks and paddleboards are not included, they can easily be delivered and picked up from the property by Ducktrap Kayak or Maine Sport Outfitters. Guests with larger boats will also find Eastwind Boat Launch and local moorings nearby.
Ideally located, Long Cove Retreat offers both seclusion and convenience. Explore the charm of nearby Tenants Harbor and the coastal town of St. George, visit the iconic Marshall Point Lighthouse, or head to Downtown Rockland for world-class dining, shopping, and art galleries, including the Farnsworth Art Museum. The Monhegan Ferry Terminal is close by, offering unforgettable excursions to Monhegan Island. If you’re looking for a bigger adventure, Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are about 2 hours to the north, perfect for a memorable day trip.
Secluded and private yet close to Midcoast Maine’s most loved destinations, Long Cove Retreat is the perfect place to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with the beauty of Maine’s outdoors.
