"I really wanted to give this place high reviews, but unfortunately the great pluses this property has (amazing location right on the water and views) are negated by an overzelous and controling owner. Prepared to be scolded, warned and admonished for many things a paying costumer would not in other stablishments. I.e. do not take the kayak out in the beautiful bay because it could be damaged by the coral..are u serious? Why have a kayak on the property if it cant be used. Or, dont leave the AC...

"Smaller resort, which was actually nice b/c it is more relaxing. Gorgeous pool area. We stayed in an over-water bungalow, which was spacious and lovely. The only complaint I would say is it would have been nice to have a chair. Like just a regular chair to sit in. There wasn't one in the room or on the deck (only lounge chairs). Got a free bottle of sparkling wine delivered to our room, which was a nice surprise. Food was outrageously expensive, which I expected, but what I did not expect is that every meal we had there was terrible. I mean borderline inedible bad. It was either unappetizing or completely flavorless. Breakfast was $50 for the buffet and it was limited and not good. I was going to try the pizza until I saw someone put their room service tray outside their bungalow with only one piece gone from 2 whole pizzas! So, it must have been bad. Drinks were fine. We ended up eating at the restaurant across the street from the resort one night and it was fantastic. Highly recommend that (Manuia Grill). "Town" is about a 5 min walk and there are some nice shops there and some additional restaurants. There is a breakfast/lunch place that I would definitely recommend over spending $50pp at the resort. Having some shops and restaurants walking distance was a nice bonus as some resorts you are basically captive b/c there is no place to go without a car/taxi. I would definitely stay here again, I just wouldn't eat at the resort."

"Beautiful view of the ocean with a very welcoming vibe. Plenty of area to relax in the backyard and well thought after decors. Place is equipped with all the amenities needed to make your stay comfortable. Host is very welcoming and helped us with any n all local details. Place is very secluded for privacy and dedicated area for parking. We had a fun stay and would definitely recommend this place."

"The resort was above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast buffet was outstanding - especially the fresh pastries and the omelette bar manned by Heinz. The snorkeling right off shore was fabulous. If we ever are able to return to Moorea, we will definitely stay at the Sofitel Kia Ora again!"

"This is a very hard review for me to write Pros: - Beautiful, authentic house - Gated and feels very safe - Great location - Incredible almost private like beach just a two minute walk away - Plenty of parking Cons: - The power went out for a day and a half so we were scrambling to find a hotel that was open. The house managers were very communicative and came by the house. But it was like pulling teeth to get a refund for that day. - The main living area of the house does not have AC. So it's just so so so hot hanging in the main house - The bugs are a real problem. Any tiny piece of food dropped will have hundreds of ants within an hour - I guess I should have been more thoughtful when I saw pictures of bug nets on the beds. They are definitely needed. If there weren't so many bugs this was a great place. Reminder that there is no heated dryer so it's hard to get clothes truly dry in such a muggy environment. I used the floor hanger thing and directed the fan against it. "

Or, dont leave the AC running or the lights on when you leave because it is very expensive (are u kidding me? I am a mature person who manage a budget of over $50M and have delivered many large construction projects and you are treating me like a 5 yr old?). This is a nice property and the owner tries to be nice, but from the hospitality biz perspective, its management needs a whole diffrent perspective. Moorea is an amazing, fantastic, laid back place. One shouldnt go there and pay good money to be treated like misbehaved kid."

"The pool was lovely, we were in it every day, as well as the ocean. The air conditioning in the bed rooms worked very well, but not as efficient in the main living area. Two issues were something was living in the kitchen and we had multiple power outages even when following their guidelines. We loved the outdoor area, BBQ and closeness to grocery store and restaurants. "
