Room had a nice view of the lake. Staff very helpful. Nice breakfast with view as well. Our room didn’t have a/c so, the room was a little stuffy. During the day you can open the back door but, you couldn’t at night. Overall a nice place. Quiet and up the hill a bit but, you could drive easily to town.

The location is on a hill with beautiful green grounds surrounding the hotel, overlooking the Tegernsee (lake) The rooms were modern and comfortable, there's a nice terrace to enjoy coffee or tea, and a self service bar available. Our dog also liked the spacious gardens the the forest paths.

A Serene Retreat with Limited Dining Options

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The only downside was the lack of room service or evening dining options. To find a restaurant, you need to walk down to the lakes and then make your way back up a steep set of stairs, which takes around 20 minutes, depending on your fitness level. Taxis are also scarce in the area. While the location is beautiful, having your own vehicle would be ideal. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful during my stay, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. Our room was fabulous, and that view was spectacular. Breakfast was the best food I had in Germany with a view that did not disappoint! The front desk people were helpful and spoke English. The dining staff were wonderful, and though they didn't speak English and we didn't speak German, were extremely welcoming. The one drawback is that it was difficult to access with the road closed when we were there. We walked up the path with our suitcases from the Bahnstation - it was memorable to say the least; I would recommend taking a taxi up if you have bags!

Fantastic hotel with stunning views over the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - we all felt incredibly relaxed and could t get enough of the views! The staff at the hotel are all very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great and loved the fact there was lactose free milk! The only thing to be aware of is there is a steep 20 minute walk to the town and so taxis are needed in the evening if you don’t have a car - they cost 11 euros one way. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful views.

Beautiful hotel, with spectacular views of the lake. But, it was a bit of a hike to the waterfront and city center. The walk down wasn’t bad, the walk back was cab worthy. The hotel is very nice, excellent breakfast, service and views.

A little worn, but very pleasant

This is a nice place. The staff at the hotel are very nice and helpful, and the view of the lake is just stunning. The room, carpet, and some of the furniture had seen better days. But the bathroom was updated and the bed was comfortable. Just a note, the hotel is a very steep walk 20 minutes up a hill from town. You wouldn't walk it unless you wanted some serious exercise. But overall, I'd return.

Man darf nicht vergessen das die tolle Aussicht auch einen Weg auf sich nimmt. Die Zimmer waren okey, klein und sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend, der Spar Bereich leider total enttäuschend. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und die Aussicht ist wirklich ein Traum, auch von dort gibt es tolle Wanderwege! Der Zweck nur doch zu übernachten hat es erfüllt, von dort aus sind wir nur noch mit dem Auto unterwegs gewesen.

Wir haben 3 Nächte in einer Juniosuite übernachten, die sehr geräumig und schön eingerichtet war. Vom Balkon hatte man einen grandiosen Blick auf den Tegernsee und die gleichnamige Ortschaft, Rottach-Egern etc. Alles war sehr sauber und der Zimmerservice perfekt. Allerdings fehlten die sonst üblichen Annehmlichkeiten im Bad, wie Nagelpfeile, Watte, Körpercreme etc. Dass es sich um ein Hotel garni handelt, hat Expedia verschwiegen. Zum Essen muss man daher den längeren Abstieg zum See in Kauf nehmen oder mit dem Auto fahren. Das Frühstücksangebot ist reichhaltig, es kann auf einer herrlichen Sonnenterrasse eingenommen werden. Service beim Frühstück ist angemessen, aber den Gästen nicht zwingend zugewandt. Insgesamt haben wir wenig Personal im Haus wahrgenommen. Bar mit Selbstbedienung. Die defekte Stehlampe, die am ersten Abend zu kokeln begann, ist trotz Unterrichtung der Rezeptionistin bis zur Abreise nicht entfernt worden. Der Westerhof bietet komfortable und saubere Zimmer mit sagenhaftem Ausblick, aber aufgrund des begrenzten Personaleinsatzes fühlt man sich als Gast nur eingeschränkt "umsorgt".

Aussicht top, sonst nichts

Sehr schöne aussicht. Mit dem Auto ca 6 min vom Zentrum, aber zu Fuss unmöglich, da die Strasse sehr steil ist. Also muss man jedes mal runterfahren und Parkplatz suchen. Das Hotel hat leider nichts, ausser Bad and Breakfast. Keine Verpflegung (Restaurant), keine Bar, kein Pool. Also trotz wunderschönen Aussicht, kann man nichts machen! Matratze leider Katastrophe, kein Klima!!

Wir waren mit Hund eine Woche im Westerhof Tegernsee. Ausgesprochen sehr freundliches Personal am Empfang und beim Frühstück! Hilfsbereit und herzlich! Zimmer sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet mit Seeblick. Das Hotel ist wirklich empfehlenswert!
