A great place for a short stop. Very clean and tidy room. Non - contact check in and out so a little impersonal. But nothing wrong with that as long as you're able to cope with simple technology. Well placed for town centre

Beaufort Lodge

There were no public areas. Nor a tennis court that we saw! We did not meet the proprietor - the only contact was by text and mobile phone - we were sent the entry code and instructions by text. The proprietors father turned up as we were entering the house. The room was lovely and clean and had a nice view of the garden. The parking was a boon. No breakfast - it has apparently not been offered since the beginning of the pandemic for covid reasons. Hotels.com information needs updating. We were advised to go to Tesco’s across the road or to the Town Centre for breakfast.Unfortunately Tesco’s is not open until 10am on Sundays and we were not reminded of this - so a wasted 30 minutes - with one of us needing to catch a train. It was very hot - at the very least all rooms could have been provided with a fan especially as the only place to go in the guest house was your own room. There was housekeeping which was very minimal - water glasses were back in the bathroom and shower mat hung over the shower but our bed was not made - we had not expected it anyway as we had been told that Covid and sheltering someone was affecting breakfast provision. We have been to 2 hotels during Covid and at both we were told no one would go in our room whilst we were there which in the circumstance seemed sensible It was an odd experience and in the end we left at 6pm on the second evening as we were able to go and stay with friends in Bristol which was on our way home the next day.

Lovely find.

Lovely welcome from Richard. Room was a tiny bit dated and the bed a bit squeaky and bouncy but overall we loved the room - lovely old fashioned decor, nice and quiet. Only downside was the power of the water from the shower which was a bit poor. Lovely choice for the continental breakfast. We came for the cricket and the hotel was within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

Spacious b&b with limited parking, very close to amenities and also for the hospital. Richard was very welcoming. Bits and pieces could do with painting/general repair but I found this place overall very charming. A lovely cold breakfast selection was included. I would stay here again happily.

Was a stop over for our trip to St Ives. Perfect location, easy to find and Richard was very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was lovely and so much better from that big fry up you normally get. Regards, Kevin C

Lovely welcome from the owner, Richard. Great location if you want to walk into the centre of Taunton. Very clean and tidy. Continental breakfast was very filling. Would be happy to stay there again.

We were well looked after. The staff were very good. It was very clean and nicely laud out. Our room overlooked the garden which was lovely. The breakfast was good too. The room was poorly finished. The towel rail kept falling off and the electrics were poor. There were extension cables and many of the sockets did not work. The shower had a very slow flow. A good welcome overall. It was ok.

Nice garden view and near town centre

A convenient 10 minutes stroll between a big Tesco and a Lidl to the town centre for shops restaurants churches, and the Vivary park. A little chaotic, but the room had a nice view of gardens, and it was quiet.The pleasant sound of rain on the garden.

Excellent service but avoid front rooms

Lovely building with great service. Most rooms seem of a good standard, but room 2, at the front of the house, is very noisy from traffic. Some evidence of maintenance requirements also. All in all, good value for money.

Close to everything, super friendly

We were delighted to stay at Beauford Lodge this weekend. My husband was working at Musgrove hospital which turned out to be a 10 minute walk from the lodge, I was able to wonder around Taunton centre which was also a 10 minute walk from the lodge. We went to eat at a stunning hotel/restaurant which was a 3 minute walk from the lodge, there was a huge tescos the other side of the road to the lodge never mind everything else that was a within a 20 minute drive from it. The Owner, Rich, was incredibly friendly and very polite in the face of all my chatting. The room was beautiful, the décor was very fitting to the Georgian building. The beds were comfortable, kettle with tea and coffee and the cleanliness was perfect. They also allowed my dog to stay with us and Rich recommended dog friendly places for me to go. Thank you Beauford Lodge!

Very handy for town centre

I had requested early check-in and we had a lovely, warm welcome with lots of advice as to where to eat and what to see. Mr Clark could not have been a better host. Despite the intense heat, the room was cool and very comfortable. We would recommend the Beaufort Lodge to everyone.

Great town centre location.

We recently stayed here for one night as we had a cider tour At sheppys. On arrival we were met by the owner Richard. Very friendly and polite, we arrived before our room was ready but I had arranged before we arrived if we could leave our car parked on site, this was not an issue. The cider tour was great, we arrived back at Beaufort lodge and was given our key to a wonderful room, very light, bright and airy. The room was spacious and very clean, it smelt very fresh too. My wife and I were very happy. The bathroom was compact but it had all that you need, a good shower too, The bed was very comfortable, We both slept well. Breakfast was continental at weekends but that was not an issue, a lovely selection of fresh fruit, cereal, pastries and juices too, Also a toaster to help yourself. Richard was there for breakfast and made us feel very welcome chatting to us about our stay and other things. Highly recommend this little gem, we will stay here again when in the area. Great B&B Richard.
