The 5 Star Compound is a Beautiful Secluded Property in Taos NM
The 5 Star Compound is an elegant, authentic adobe combination of a main house and guest house on five acres, surrounded by junipers and native grasses, nestled in Taos Canyon on the scenic Enchanted Circle drive - yet only 5 miles from historic Taos Plaza. Truly a four-season experience, with vibrant spring and summer gardens, golden autumn cottonwoods, and snow-covered pines in winter. The 5 acre property has a private trail culminating in a canyon-view bench before it joins national forest. A rustic bridge crosses the Rio Fernando. A 1/3-acre pond reflects the landscape. Many guests are now staying longer in Taos and wish to work from "home". We have reliable internet and there is a collapsible computer desk in the Casita. There is a large desk in the library-office of the main house. The location is 18 miles to Angel Fire and 24 miles to Taos Ski Valley and is very convenient to hiking, biking, snow shoeing trails and all the shopping, dining and culture Taos has to offer. The beautiful outdoor setting has 3 furnished patios and 2 porches, hot tub and the backdrop of the Carson National Forest. There is a car port next to the Casita entrance and a single garage attached to the main house plus ample parking. Radiant and wall heated. Saltillo and Italian stone tile flooring, large kiva and tile wood burning fireplaces plus one bedroom with a gas burning fireplace. Generous skylights set between high ponderosa ceiling vigas accent the softly curved mud plaster walls. Washer/dryer, iron and ironing board are on the premises. Thick adobe walls, trees, and cross ventilation keep it naturally cool in summer. Roku TV wireless internet. Fenced-in, private, separate dog yard (shady, sheltered and fairly escape proof for the pooch!) Lots of towels and 2 hair dryers. Navajo weaving and other art works. Coved dining area with 4 chairs in the Casita and dining table seating for eight plus kitchen table seating 4 in the main house. Window views into the expanse of the pond and forested hills – good birding! Ceiling fans in every bedroom. Beautifully decorated and furnished. A well designed floor plan. Sleeping Arrangements are as follows: Main House can sleep 6 in 2 bedrooms and an office. King bed in master bedroom 1, Queen plus full sleeper couch in master bedroom 2, and the office/library has a deep couch (futon) which can sleep 1. The guest house casita can sleep 4 with a king bedroom and living room which contain a full and twin sofa bed. Main house has 3 bathrooms (2 in-suite baths, plus a guest bath) Casita has a bathroom with a tub/shower combo.

This home was a joy for us to stay in! Absolutely beautiful, with ample communal space and private space, plus a lovely back yard with a pond framed by the nearby mountains.
Premier Properties are a first-rate property manager, and they made the entire experience for us easy and worry-free.
Perfect! Everyone had a great time! Skiing, hot tub, hiking and shopping! And to top it off, we had a white Christmas while we were on a sleigh ride and horseback riding!

Reviewer Comments:
We loved this beautiful home and amazing property. It was a comfortable and artistic home for a few days of relaxation. We made most of our meals at the house, plenty of room with 3 bedrooms for anyone to sleep late in the mornings or stay up late watching movies or enjoying the hot tub. Also enjoyed the hill climb behind the house for sunrise views up the canyon.
