We spent a great week there with nice hikes on the other side of the water."

You can not ask for better views and the home owner went above and beyond for us when we ran into probelms with our travel plans and she allowed us to extend our stay by two nights. "Great hotel in great location for exploring Alesund on foot. Limited hotel parking, but there's a parking garage nearby (about £20 per day). Good breakfast, but some hot items are in short supply at times. In the evening, the restaurant meals are good, although the menu is a big limited."

"Great location and superb views from our room and the dining room. Lots of information about the island available in English in the room, the library and the host on check in. Good breakfast. No evening meal available as the chef had run away to sea which meant a twenty mile round trip to eat in the evening. There was also an issue with the front door key not working properly "
