The day before check-in, we were told they couldn't accommodate us at The Windsor Hotel and we were moved to another hotel: The Stratford Hotel. They'd already taken full payment, 7 days before our check-in date plus, with so little time left before our scheduled arrival, what choice did we have? They upgraded our room for the inconvenience, but it wasn't what we would've wanted ... had we been able to choose for ourselves.

First Time Stay
We understand the hotel is under updating. Attention should be paid to the quality of painting. Electrical box sitting outside of the baseboard. No radio or phone in the room. NO WIFI AVAILABILITY. I am not going into the hall to use Wifi for personal or business use. Take note of your Fire Extinguisher examination card. 2021?????? So those are the negatives. On the positive side our room was small (that is what I booked) it was very very clean and well stocked.
The staff at this Hotel are AWESOME. My husband and I are an older couple. The staff showed respect and consideration of our limitations. They offered to help with luggage to our rooms, help with Wifi, supper recommendations, concern to keep the front entry clean, the night staff gentleman came to our door with a wake up call at 5:30 am when his call would not go through my cell (won't ring me with an unrecognizable incoming number). That same person walked me, with my luggage (while my disabled husband could wait in a warm entry) to the (very dark at 6:00am) parking lot and placed same luggage into my SUV. He was awesome!!!!!!
If you can elevate your renovations to the level of quality of the staff you have a WINNER!

The property is seasoned. The room was very large with 2 double beds.
My concern was the Expedia booking. I was told by the hotel I could not book direct so I used Expedia then when I called the hotel with a change I was told to call Expedia. At check in the change had not been forwarded to the Hotel and somehow that was mine to own because I booked through Expedia? The room charges were charged to my credit card Nov 9 for a stay Nov 16-19. In addition $500/ per room security deposit(we had 3 rooms). The rooms were guaranteed on 1 credit card intending for each room to pay at time of check-in this could not be done as the payment was put through 5 days ahead. The concern from the hotel perspective was hotel policy or Expedia policy. Little concern about the customer. The hotel was great our stay was great, Stratford was what we expected. Hotel staff were great but unconcerned that close to $2500 for 3 rooms for 3. nights was charged to my cr card at the start of a Christmas shopping weekend. The responsibility fell to me to collect from my group. This was the biggest disappointment the internal management became my problem.
