Far enough to feel like you're alone in nature, close enough to Stanthorpe that it isn't a hassle to go out. Dinner meals were all fantastic. Sunday warm breakfast was great, sadly they don't do it every day. Room was clean. Saw Kangaroos and some lovey fish in the pond.

Customer care lacking
Nice bushy location. Check-in wasn't very personable but did get a nice basket of goodies Nice suite with fireplace. Garden needed a weed in my suite and cobwebs all around building so some upkeep required to buildings. Door difficult to lock also. Didn't make dinner as they expect orders early. I had to call an ambulance as we were leaving for my friend who was taken to hospital and no-one came to check on us and they only called me afterwards to find out whether it was covid related and they would need a deep clean.

Hi Michelle, My name is Dee. My husband and I own Granite Belt Retreat and Brewery. As you can imagine, it is disappointing to hear your feedback re: customer care lacking. Guests come to stay with us to have a private, quiet escape to the bush. We pride ourselves on our friendly, warm customer service so to hear that you didn't get a very personable check-in experience is a surprise to us and will be discussed in our weekly staff meeting. When I got to work for the lunch shift on the day of your departure, our receptionist told me that an ambulance had turned up to one of the rooms. She said that the keys were just dropped at reception, therefore she did not feel it was right to pry. As the owner, I made the decision to call you immediately to check on the patient and to also confirm if the emergency had any relation to Covid 19. I have a duty of care to all guests - incoming, outgoing and also to our staff, and wanted to ensure that the patient was doing OK at our local hospital and wanted to ensure that our housekeeping team was not at risk by entering the room. I was relieved to hear that the patient's emergency was not Covid related. We discussed the option of sourcing a room for you for the night in case you needed it and you said you would only call me if you needed accommodation for another night. I passed on my best wishes for the patient, and we didn't hear back from you. I'm really sorry that you did not feel that our efforts were enough, and will discuss this with our team so that we can improve in the future. Thank you for your review Michelle. We were happy with our cabin but disappointed in the breakfast basket. It was very simple and not sufficient for two people for two breakfasts. I did complain and was given extra.

Dated but comfortable. Fireplace made it worth it.
Cabin was dated but comfortable (would stay again). Breakfast was a basket with hard bread for toast in the morning and a bottle of apple juice made on site. Lots of nice cafes in town for real breakfast though. We had the $45/head dinner (main and dessert). Food was nice pub food though it can get busy and we were forgotten. One hour after dinner we gave up waiting for dessert and as we head for the door they said it was ready, we then asked for it to be takeaway to have back in the cabin which turned out nicer but an ice cream cup and a slice of apple pie really is not worth the wait. Besides the head scratching over dessert the place was good. Wish we'd arrived earlier to explore the walking tails mentioned around the property.

Serenity
The restaurant and check in hours were not as advertised due to changes due to covid. Make sure you check with the property regarding these prior to your stay. Really clean and such tranquil surroundings.

We loved our stay at the Granite Belt Brewery Retreat. The timber cabins were cosy and warm and the food at the restaurant was great. The kids loved running around on the big communal lawn. It was perfect for a family get away!

Excellent location for visiting Stanthorpe and wineries. Lovely and quiet, nice cabin, excellent on-site bar and restaurant. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, we had a wonderful stay.

Separate little huts in a natural country setting allows you to enjoy the Stanthorpe wildlife and tranquility. Huts don't look much from outside but inside they are clean and modern. Good value and strongly recommend dining at their restaurant to sample their food and selection of beers brewed on site. Beef Brisket was excellent and their range of beers must be sampled.

OK for a couple of days.
Booked for 2 nights, continental breakfast included.....only got breakfast for 1 morning! Restaurant food OK....but expensive for what you get....better off eating at RSL....great food there. Kookaburras will visit you for a hand out. Castle Glen is a must visit!!! No wifi in cabin.

Great food, lovely staff and unique experience.
Unique experience of a brewery located on the property. Beers were great. Staff were nice and accomodating to our late arrival. Only issue is that the restaurant and bar close very early at 8:30PM sharp. A little disappointing so I hope they change this, particularly the bar maybe staying open until 10PM. Would definitley stay again and have already recommended for friends to stay.

Perfect for a weekend getaway!
Our cosy timber cabin was perfect for a romantic getaway over Easter. The staff are friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions for things to do in the area. The restaurant also has amazing food! Would definitely stay again

A truely rural experience
A lovely place to stay amongst the gum trees , with plenty of wildlife hoping and flying past. some nice walks nearby and a chance for beer tasting! always a delight.

Nice room/cabin
Nice room/cabin overlooking grounds. Saw wildlife at night & early morning. Food in restaurant was not great - (wings, calamari), not really resto standard. Beer tasting at bar was great, really enjoyed. Staff were very friendly & great customer service.
