Hosts were great. Breakfast was great. Located 102 steep steps to town. Do not come if you cannot climb a lot of steps. Room was very small and shower was in the bedroom. Bathroom was only large enough for camped and small sink.

Thank you for taking time to write a review. We are glad that you enjoyed the breakfast and the hotel generally. We do try to emphasize on our website, blog, social media and pre arrival emails that we are located on a historic step street, and that guests with mobility issues may find walking downtown to be difficult. We are a very hilly island. There are abundant taxis and rental cars as well if future guests have a similar concern. We are always happy to discuss before you book.

Mark and Jess truly provide beautiful place for you to stay. Mark is always available for tips on the island and Jess's delectable homemade breakfast is the highlight of each and everyday. This is truly a gem in the tropics, they make each and everyday you stay with them memorable. The rooms are just perfect and views of the harbor are beautiful. I truly believe that Mark and Jess make a home for you in the tropics. See you soon

Nothing is within walking distance and there is no food delivery in the island, but that’s not the fault of the B&B. They were fantastic and helpful, especially the breakfasts!

We enjoyed the historic property. It was clean, quaint, and quiet. The view of the harbor was outstanding. Excellent innkeepers and wonderful food for our breakfasts. Swam in the pool daily and watched the sunset from our balcony most evenings. Highly recommend staying At Home in the Tropics.

I can’t say enough good things for our stay here! The property was always locked and safe, our room was so clean and cute, our breakfast was amazing!! All the food was homemade by the host, Jess. My personal favorite was the morning we had a coconut smoothie with eggs in a homemade bread bowl. The view was amazing and the property was so picturesque. Additionally, the bed was so comfortable, probably the most comfortable bed and pillows I’ve ever had on vacation. To top it off, the hosts were so hospitable and welcoming. Can’t recommend this place enough! Thanks guys!

At home in St Thomas
Our 8 day stay at At home in the Tropics was excellent and made more pleasant by the helpfulness of the owners Jess and Mark. The breakfasts were a treat to be looked forward to each day and were varied and tasteful, cooked fresh by Jess each morning. The property is 200 years old but well maintained and a credit to the owners. Everything worked as it should except for a TV glitch that we overcame with Mark's help. We would highly recommend this B & B for any able bodied guest as being on a hilly island results in plenty of steps to negotiate which seemed to get easier after a few days.

In-Town Solitude
This adorable bed & breakfast was perfect for my 2-night stay in St. Thomas. The bed and pillows were some of the softest I’ve ever slept on. Mark & Jess were amazing hosts. You can see that they take great care in making the space a welcoming one. Don’t hesitate to book here. You won’t regret it.

We stayed for 6 nights at this property and the experience was amazing. Mark and Jess couldn't have been nicer hosts with a ton of knowledge of where to eat and what to do on St. Thomas. The breakfast each morning was delightful and well presented. Rooms were comfortable and the balcony view was amazing. We hope to get back here again someday soon!

Very charming property, quiet and a real getaway. This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was delicious and it included a beautiful view of the harbor. Location was near shopping centers yet peaceful at night. The owners were amicable and definitely would return. The property was so cute. Very clean.. very quiet..There were places to eat fairly close. The pool was always clean. Breakfast was always delicious. And we also loved the four legged friends we met. It was very homey. The owners were very helpful with suggestions for entertainment and food suggestions. Would def recommend to others.

Don't even know where to start. Mark and Jessica were fantastic hosts. They were mindful of everyone's personal space but always seem to be right there when you had a question. The property is perfectly located and the view was fantastic which over looked the bay and the town. Room was exactly as seen in the photos. We walked down the 109 steps down into the town several times to eat at the many local restaurants and bars. Hitting the chicken truck on the main waterfront road is a must! If you want a quiet place to stay and be fed a great breakfast (Local coffee they served was the best) then look no further. No resort fee, no parking fee, free use of beach chairs, snorkel gear, Coolers and other items is a big added bonus. As McCarthy said when he left the Philippines...."I shall return" applies to At Home in the Tropics for us!

In a word, At Home in the Tropics is perfect! It starts with the setting, which is not only gorgeous, but very conveniently located a few blocks from the main St Thomas shopping/eating district. Our room was spotless (cleaned very day!) and plenty big, and had everything we needed for a comfortable week away. The pool and breakfast area are delightful. The breakfasts themselves were one of the highlights of our trip… fresh and delicious, a different breakfast every day (and mine were vegetarian, as requested). Jess and Mark were lovely hosts, offering many tips and suggestions for local touring and transportation. We can’t recommend At Home in the Tropics enough! Stop looking… this is the place!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Mark and Jess were very kind, hospitable hosts who gave fantastic recommendations about sights to see and where to eat, etc. Our stay here was a relaxing, enjoyable get-away that felt like paradise. We truly did feel “at home in the tropics.” Everything was exquisite, from the food to the accommodations, location, and scenery. Our stay could not have been better. We do not enjoy large hotels or resorts. At Home in the Tropics is small and quaint.Jess and Mark are amazing host. The view from the deck where we enjoyed our morning coffee and spectacular breakfast, was a wonderful beginning of each day. Everything Jess made was so tasty and Mark always made sure we had plenty coffee. They were both very helpful with information about things to do, restaurant’s and beaches. Truly one of the best vacation spots we have ever been to. It was for our honeymoon and me and my wife loved every second. Breakfast was incredible and everyone was so kind and hospitable. We loved getting to walk to restaurants in the area AND it was still so easy to go to any of the beaches via vans. Can not express enough how amazing this B&B is!!

We loved our stay with Marc and Jess. They are amazing hosts and always available to give recommendations or assist in creating an itinerary as well as helping with taxis. It’s a very convenient location with a breathtaking view. My favorite part of the stay was the breakfast which is thoughtfully made each morning and a great way to start your day. Our room was comfortable and clean. Couldn’t recommend their place more! Would love to go back.

We didn't expect for our B&B stay to be the defining aspect of our St. Thomas vacation, but At Home in the Tropics proved to be that, and then some. We could tell from the moment we arrived that our warm hosts and property owners, Jess and Mark, were all-in on making our stay memorable. The views of the bay from our room and outdoor dining area were phenomenal. Because the property features only four rooms, we enjoyed a very quiet, comfortable, and private stay. We were especially impressed with the room's boutique and historical charm, from the French shutters to the reimagined barracks-style architecture. But the real pièce de résistance of a stay here was, without question, the eating experience. If you plan to have breakfast on this island, you cannot do better than At Home in the Tropics. Jess' locally sourced and thoughtfully crafted dishes were sensational. While serving up delicious fruit and rounds of coffee each morning, Mark (a seas-oned expert on all things local) offered recommendations that helped maximize our experience on the island. We would have stayed another five days here if we could've, if for no other reason than to enjoy the hospitality. The owners were wonderful, great breakfast made with local ingredients and home grown fruits. The rooms are clean, private and cozy! I absolutely recommend At Home In The Tropics B&B!

I can’t say enough positive things about this place! My boyfriend and I booked a 5 night stay and ended up extending for 7 nights because it was so incredible and we didn’t want to leave. Mark and Jen are the nicest hosts and so accommodating. We looked forward to coffee and homemade breakfast every morning, which was absolutely delicious. The pictures are exactly what the hotel looks like, cute and quaint, so clean with beautiful views. The area is walkable and the taxi service is very efficient. I highly recommend staying here if you have no kids and want a quiet, romantic vacation. We will definitely be coming back in the future!

At Home in the Tropics is one of the loveliest places we have ever stayed. Mark and Jess provide wonderful service. Their willingness to go above and beyond for their guests is truly amazing! A beautiful location to explore the city with picturesque views and a breakfast that rivals any five star dining! We will be back to visit the USVI’s again and we will definitely stay here again!

My wife and I were beyond thrilled with our experience at At Home In The Tropics. The view was breathtaking, the owners were extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. The homemade breakfasts were delicious. We can’t wait to go back!

Everything was perfect. All the little details made our five year anniversary perfect. The beautiful views and gourmet breakfast were perfection. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts

Excellent boutique b&b conveniently local above town. Easy to park and rent car to get around the island. Delicious homemade breakfasts in the morning. Gracious host with all amenities needed. Comfortable beds and sitting areas outside by pool. Highly recommend. We were past guests whom enjoy staying at this property.

At Home in the Tropics was the perfect place to stay during our honeymoon! Jess and Mark were fantastic hosts, the breakfasts were outstanding, the cleanliness was unmatched, and the views were breathtaking. This is is an absolute gem in St. Thomas.
