Relaxing Waterfront Cottage Near St Michaels, Maryland
10/10 Excellent
"Magee Cottage in Wittman Md, the eastern shore, is an excellent rental cottage with all the amenities a discerning renter could have including panoramic water views, a dock and a swimming pool. The kitchen is large, modern and well stocked with what you need, a wrap around deck with large barbecue grill, and picnic table for crab feasts. Why spend precious time with crowded highways and heavy traffic to Ocean City when you can kick back and relax in Wittman just minutes from St. Michael’s with great shopping and super restaurants."
"The staff, but not the owner, was very welcoming. Breakfast was good, but on the meager-side. The room was clean. The bathroom was very, very small. When drying yourself after a shower, you had to be careful not to wipe the toilet bowl."
"The property felt outdated (still had thermometers hanging on the wall from COVID) . The hot tub was disgusting- looked like mold on the benches. Only partly filled and freezing, the jets were not producing bubbles- there was no sign saying it was out of order. The blankets on the bed had literal holes in them. There was no toaster in the breakfast area for the bagels, toast, etc. The windows in the pool area were opened so as the night went on, it was getting colder because of the outside temp. There did not seem to be drainage in the pool area because there was so much pooling of water on the ground. Not enough towels in the bathroom. The staff was not super helpful/friendly. The AC was very noisy. The location is convenient but the hotel itself was not great."
"Comfortable, cozy room in lovely historic hotel in walkable downtown Easton. Helpful front desk staff loaned me a charging block, returned my charging cord when I left on checkout, and suggested where I could buy one within walking distance."
"We arrived early and the staff was wonderful and had our room ready soon after we arrived. The staff is very helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable.
The property is well cared for and the location on the river is stunning. We were at the inn on a week day and it was quiet and relaxing.
The breakfast was a basket of breakfast biscuits and protein bars, no fruit or yogurt but very delicious coffee."
