This hotel is in a great location but completely neglected and poorly managed: inadequate linen ( 2 towels per room); Aircons in a state of disrepair, no cappuccino machine, pool area not managed ( outsiders come to swim), restaurant almost non-existent.

Service was very bad, no one attended us when we arrived we even took keys by ourselves because there was no one at reception and also when we checked out we just left the keys, there was no one. Cockroach in our room, it was not clean even the balcony. Breakfast was fine. No fridge. Overall we was so disappointed.

Fair - Wifi, damp, breakfast needs to improve

Wifi in the reception area only, not in the rooms. Staff not really friendly. We were sent to the right room and found it unbearably smelling of dump from the mat. We were given another room and it was better than the first, but it smells too. Breakfast can be nice but it was smaill portions. The hotel is nicely and centrally situated. We saw the hippos upclose. Great hotel and it can be upscaled easily. Nice swimming pool and gardens.

Upon arrival I was sent to a room that I have not paid for. After asking and telling the receptionist about this she had told me all other rooms are fully booked and they cannot do anything. I found this very frustrating as I did not get what I paid for. The room was a king size bed what I paid for but yet I was given two single beds.

Hippo’s on the lawn.

Best position in St Lucia. Saw Hippo’s on hotel grounds twice. Gardens and pool area make this one of the best options for a short stay. The rooms, although not huge, were serviced and kept neat and clean. Restaurant food compared with the best you will find in town. Portions were generous, and the service better than expected. Overall good value. Breakfast choices would satisfy most travelers. Wi-fi was slow, but adequate. We stayed in self- catering apartments in St Lucia previously, but this is without a doubt the best option for short stop-over. The highlight of our stay was seeing the hippo up close, grazing right next to the hotel pool.

Hotel sympa et bien placé. Niveau personnel c'est assez disparate, certains managers ne sont pas polis du tout et au contraire certains employés sont adorables! On a avait pris les deux petits déjeuners à emporter pour les safaris, on l'a eu que le premier jour car ils ont oublier le lendemain...

Last 3 nights of the holiday

Nice 3-day stay, in a very comfortable, friendly hotel. Ideal location, by the river and a very short walk to the numerous restaurants in the small town. Good, spacious rooms, which are kept very clean, but without any wifi (which was only available in the restaurant, reception and the bar). Breakfast had plenty of options and the friendly staff were able to assist with any local suggestions. The hippo tour was a bit disappointing but we did see a couple come close to the hotel pool. We'd highly recommend a day up at Cape Vidal - fantastic place.
