Coconut cottage

We loved this very efficient cottage with the best view, easy to lounge in, very comfortable beds and loft! My only comment was the shared driveway- shared by another house- very difficult to park when another car is there with medium (4 door) jeep. Wouldn’t have changed our plans, but when I booked, I didn’t know it was shared.

Beautiful place

This villa was amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. Only a few things I would recommend, they need a can opener and my mattress toppers the beds are really hard. The master room doesn’t cool down that well. All the other rooms did. But over all we loved our stay. Thank you

Beautiful Escape

Wonderful Stay in a beautiful spot… house was clean and the AC was nice to have in the evenings. The deck has stunning views and is a great spot to relax after a long day! It wasn’t a problem for us.. but floors are separated and need to be accessed by outdoor stairs. Doors can’t be locked. It is a very safe island, so it didn’t bother us, but you should know this if it would present a problem for you. We’ll be back!

One of the best!

Perfect! The perfect place to spend our family vacation for the week. The location has gorgeous view. The house was clean and well stocked. Any issues we had were immediately addressed. Couldn’t have asked for a better place.

Love St John!

We have visited the island several times over the past 15 years but had not been on island since 2015 (pre Maria). While much has changed, much is the same. We returned to the first home we rented on this trip and while there were many updates (eg solar installations) the home is in need of some TLC. (eg doors that were not hanging properly, minor leaking in bathroom, no key to lock up, some basic kitchen items missing- can opener, paring knife...) The beaches and weather were awesome. It was very challenging to find fresh food to cook for ourselves that was affordable. Communication with the host was wonderful, property was clean.

Old home week!!

We are a blended family; half of the group used to live in St. Thomas and other half were visiting for the first time. It was marvelous feeling we were home again in the islands and immediately fell back into old habits of conserving water, not batting an eye at mahogany birds & house lizards while the others learned hard lessons about island life!! Maintenance issues existed but were handled quickly by management and, all in all, we had a wonderful time at your home.

Relaxing, secluded setting

We enjoyed our stay. The view from the porch was excellent and relaxing. One bummer was that the pool pump needed replacing while we were there, so there was no pool access for a good portion of our stay, but the property manager did get it replaced so the people after us should have a better experience with enjoying the pool. The screen door on the bottom level could use a new magnet or latch, when the wind blew the door opened and closed all night until we found a way to secure it. The location was nice and private, and we did enjoy feeling secluded on a beautiful island. Driveway slopes are steep in the area, once we got used to that it was better. Convenient small grocery stores nearby (3–Dolphin, Love, and Calabash), as well as some restaurants and shops. Calabash market had great local seafood that we cooked and enjoyed. Gallons of water were much better priced at Dolphin market as compared to Love, just fyi. We also enjoyed taking a figure drawing class at the community center that is located about a mile away from the property. We also appreciated the owner leaving bug spray—some of us were really loved by the bugs on the island and the spray helped (we learned the hard way). Don’t assume you don’t need it if you are prone to being a bug bite target!! Megan was gracious in reaching out to me to offer to extend the stay if needed due to the possibility of a tropical storm that could have potentially threatened the area. That was very thoughtful.

Family Get Away

Megan was a fantastic host and answered all my questions quickly. House is in a great location with a beautiful view. Nice to take a dip in the pool after a long hot day at the beach.

Girls Trip (Mid 50s)

A beautiful property with a clear view of Coral Bay. The screened porch was our favorite hang out spot and we all took an opportunity to wake up early and catch a breath taking sunrise. The site pictures are an accurate representation of the property. It was homey and beachy and we loved the setting. The pool is a little bonus when we wanted to cool off at the end of the day, Pauline and Tim (greeters), met up with us for a personal escort to the property. They were very responsive when we had questions and provided additional information on island activities. We had a bedroom AC go out and they were able to get it fixed the same day. Great service! Our one recommendation is to add signage just before or at the turn into the drive to Coconut Hill. We loved our girls trip and would recommend this location for a couples vacations, girls trip, etc. We definitely can't forget to mention the beaches. Some of the most beautiful beaches. The sand, the water, the cleanliness of the national park. It met all of our expectations.

Great location and amazing view

Perfect for our family of four. Check in was effortless, new mini split air conditioners made for comfortable sleeping and kitchen was well equipped. Coolers with iIce packs and beach chairs with snorkeling equipment made our beach excursions all the more enjoyable. Quiet location, did I mention the amazing views?

Great view!

Loved the location and view. Pool is smaller than pics show in vrbo and was really cold but refreshing after a beach day. Location was quiet and quaint and we loved restaurants around coral bay area. Appreciated the full kitchen, plentiful amount of towels! Would definitely come back!

Perfect Caribbean Breeze!

We def had a few Heaven on earth moments from high on the hill at the cottage. The beautiful breeze, the amazing view. We had a nice long stay and never felt the need to rush out as hanging on the porch was so delightful! It definitely is a bit high on the hill so the roads took a little getting used to at first but they really are fine and we did get used to it. Coral bay is a wonderful setting to be in nature and explore so many beautiful beaches. Sometimes we drove to Cruz bay for even more “action” and restaurants etc but we find some delightful coral bay places to eat- namely lime out tocos, pizza in paradise, miss Lucy’s and a nice meal at Rhuma ? (Thai place). The house could use a few updates but it was definitely comfortable and the response from the property owner and manager is 5 stars. Highly recommended this lovely house and setting. Thank you for making our trip to St John one of my families favorite trips!

Fantastic Views

This property was spectacular. It was extremely clean and had all the amenities needed. The screened in porch provided an amazing view with no mosquitos. The location was convenient to Coral Bay for restaurants and groceries. We appreciated the beach chairs, cooler, and towels. We can't wait to return.

Wonderful view and awesome cottage.

The cottage is located up a steep road so make sure you get a good vehicle. Everything that you would need from towels, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, as well as beach toys, chairs, etc are all included. Very well stocked! We enjoyed the awesome view and breeze. The house is secluded and quiet which made for a great stay. Thank You!

All you need plus an amazing view!

From the moment we booked the property to check out, everything went very smooth. Jake answered all my questions so quickly and provided me great suggestions! The property overall was just fine for the stay, nothing fancy, but after a long day at the beach, truly all we wanted was a place to shower, sleep and relax. I appreciated all of the beach towels, the beach chairs and cooler and having a washer and dryer was great. The view was outstanding. It didn't even look real! The price for the villa was very reasonable as St. John is a pricey place to vacation. The villa itself was well stocked with everything you would need for a trip to St. John and more (thank you for the wine and cheese!). It was clean and fairly comfortable. One bed was in the upstairs while the other two bedrooms were downstairs and you had to go outside to access them. It was fine, but with small children, I think this may have been a challenge (ours are 7 and 10). I loved the fact that there were 3 bathrooms! The driveway was really steep. I cannot imagine the navigating the driveway without a jeep. We did think the parking was a challenge with our big jeep but it worked and we survived. Everything is an adventure on St. John! We didn't really use the pool because we were at the beach so much and like others have said, it was quite cold but we were there in November. The location was great - very close to many of the famous beaches including Salt Pond Bay. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your Villa! Maybe we will be back some day!

Coconut Hill Cottage review

First of all, beautiful views of Coral Bay and beyond. Roads and driveway to villa in excellent shape. The hared and somewhat cramped parking area was never a problem. Villa was cozy, clean and well supplied with essentials, e.g. dishes, cookware, etc. Only issues were the gas grill which was in need of a good cleaning and a back up tank (ran out second time using it). A very minor issue was the TV in the main bedroom; Could not get it to work with controller provided. Overall, an excellent villa at an excellent location and good price.

Beautiful views, relaxing stay.

My husband and I, our two little boys 2 and 5 years old, father and mother in-laws all stayed at this beautiful property. Plenty of room for us all to have space and very clean. Having a washer and dryer was great for packing light and a full kitchen meant that we could eat breakfast and lunch at the villa. We utilized the beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and sand toys which was very convenient. Netflix for the kids in the mornings and evenings was great. Views are breath taking. You'll be very happy booking this property!!! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
