Family trip

Wonderful long weekend family trip. The guys did some fishing and us ladies and kids did some shopping in town. We all visited the Deer Ranch twice. The house was just as listed. It was clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable. Chad was great to work with.

Private and nearly perfect

We enjoyed the privacy and the beautiful sandy beach. The house was in good shape and was decently equipped. A few small improvements and this rental would be absolutely perfect.

Beautiful

It was located on Lake Michigan, at a perfect spot along the beach. Easy drive to the town of Saint Ignace for anything my family needed during our 6 night stay. It was clean and well stocked. The master bedroom had the most comfortable bed. Like a gigantic pillow. Best sleep I have ever had while on vacation. The TV had its own ideas of not working (I think it was trees obscuring the satellite) but we watched a movie that was in the cabinet and played games we brought with us. Overall, a very nice time.

Loved our stay in St ignace

We had an easy check in process. Went well. It did seem clean and I felt super comfortable there. It was basically a private beach we had access to. We did not see another soul the whole time we were on the beach. Only negatives I would say is that there is no wifi which I understand that after I booked I read that it is spotty so they don’t have it but I had a report due so I had to take 1:30 to go to McDonald’s and finish it when it probably would have only taken 45 mins to finish. Also I will say it wasn’t an issue for me but my parents were with us and it did say that direct tv was included and we could not get the tv to work at all and there weren’t any instructions if there was a certain process so I assumed it was disconnected or broken. Again I wasn’t there to watch tv but my parents did not like that. Overall I would visit again if we decided to come back to the UP. We had so much fun and it was well worth the 8hour drive. Maybe we will stay for another night the next time. We definitely could have had another day of activities.

The view was beautiful but…

While the view of the lake is beautiful, first impressions left much to be desired. The deck was not staged and ready for renters to take advantage of it. There was only one chair and a dirty table shoved off to the side of the weathered deck. The kitchen and bathrooms felt clean, and the beds were comfortable, but the floors and area rugs had not been cleaned. There were piles of dead bugs or something in the corners of the dining area and the closet. We were met with chirping fire and carbon monoxide alarms. I contacted the owner and about four hours later, he messaged me that there “should be” replacement batteries in a kitchen drawer. He never checked back to see if the issue was taken care of. We did not find batteries, but we thought we had silenced them all, but were all awakened to chirping in the middle of the night and never got back to a restful sleep, as every few seconds there was another chirp. We were informed before arrival that there was no internet but that there was Dish satellite tv. We found four remotes on the coffee table, but no instructions. Upon inspection, we found the dish cable was disconnected. We plugged it back in, but still no tv. Not a huge problem as we planned to do a lot of sightseeing in the area. But also not what was expected. I would give our stay overall a score of 3 which is disappointing because I felt we were splurging for a much better experience. When I am charged an additional cleaning fee, I expect rugs and floors to be clean.

U.P family destination

We had a lovely time at this house. Really enjoyed the beach for the kids! We all had plenty of space for sleeping and the location is awesome. We appreciated the wide array of fans in the closets to help keep it cool.
