FREE BIKES Dog-friendly apt in the heart of St A

A beautiful, renovated, pet-friendly, first-floor apt in a historic house . A fully-stocked kitchen for cooking, beautiful bathroom, comfy bed. A shaded, shared backyard with picnic tables and charcoal bbq grills. A few minute walk to the Historic District , Francis Field and Flagler College, while still being in a quiet neighborhood. Free use of bicycles. One parking space. Pet fee is $40 per dog per stay (max of 2 dogs). No cats.

This is a fun first floor apartment that has been completely renovated. There's a very comfortable queen size bed with a newly renovated bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots and pans you need to cook. The space has the old pine floors in it, which gives it part of the old home feel, and a beautiful (non-functioning) fireplace. Our guests love this home. and we hope you will too. it's a separate one bedroom, separate kitchen, with a combo living room/dining room.

********** We actively encourage our guests to purchase travel insurance.

We will only refund the booking for a hurricane threat if an evacuation is ordered in the area by the State of Florida. We experience threats nearly every other week during hurricane season, that rarely amount to anything.

Your apartment is completely independent, it's just the shared main entrance which provides access to four units (two upstairs and two downstairs). There's no in-home washer/dryer, but you have use of the two outside washers and dryers, soap included. The back yard is terrific, along with your private small deck with two chairs. The shared space has picnic tables, charcoal bbq grills and additional seating. There's lighting in the back yard as well. You have a back door that opens directly to the back yard and the shared space. The bicycles are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

We have a wonderful property manager who is available to answer any questions or provide any missing things. Can't find a corkscrew? Missing facecloths? They're all supposed to be there - just ask and if it's anything we can provide, we will. We want all of our guests to have a five star experience and it all starts by communication! We're also fully available by email or text. It's just that we're traveling too, so it's best to contact the property manager first. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance in case your plans change.

This is an interesting neighborhood. Located right across the street from Ketterlinus Elementary school, you definitely hear the sound of children playing during recess time, but it means it's pretty quiet at night. There's not a lot of street noise and there's typically street parking available.

It's fun to sit outside on weekend nights and hear the music from downtown, but you don't hear it in the house.

We're in a neighborhood called Flagler's Model Land. Most of the houses in the neighborhood were built in the 1800's and some are very charming. Most of the area was originally owned by Henry Flagler, who played an important part of the growth of St. Augustine. Flagler College is also just a couple of blocks away.

We're a few minute walk to The Barley Republic, if you're looking for a drink. The food at The Barley Republic is very Irish and very tasty. There's a number of other restaurants and bars within a few minutes too. St. Augustine is a great city to explore with great food, great cocktails and interesting historical sites. Don't miss The Fountain of Youth (wear bug spray).

We are less than two blocks from a trolley stop next to the Wax Museum, which most visitors to St. Augustine like to use to explore the city.

You are always welcome to park on the street in front of the house if there is room. If there's no parking, you also will have ONE assigned spot behind the property. Directions to the parking will be provided with your check-in instructions.

If you have a second car, or a large car or truck, we do have overflow parking for possibly one extra car on a first come, first serve basis. Parking permit is required. Our assigned parking will not accommodate large vehicles. The parking garage is about a three minute walk away.

For longer trips around, Uber, taxis and pedicabs are readily available.

The sofa bed is in the living room. You need to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom - just so you know about the privacy issue! There are games and books in the front hallway bookshelf for those rainy day activities. This is an old house, so you may hear some noise. Events and parties are not allowed as a result. We allow dogs in the property, which you need to know if you have severe allergies.

We absolutely loved the location! It was walking distance to every where downtown. I liked that the school was across the street and the police station a few blocks away. It was a very safe area. The condo has everything you need.

Perfect for our mini getaway

Excellent communication from hosts and property manager throughout our stay. Property had everything we needed for a short stay and we enjoyed the nice backyard area for our kids to play in. Prime Location to Explore

The location of this property is perfect for exploring St. Augustine. Being within walking distance of restaurants and the hop on hop of tour was perfect for our vacation. The only drawbacks to our stay was the parking which was very tight for our Honda Pilot. Another guest had a truck in the small parking area and it was not easy to get in and out around their vehicle.

St. Augustine Get Away

We absolutely loved staying in this charming apartment. Exactly as it was described. Very close to all of the wonderful shops and restaurants in St. Augustine. Close to the historical sites. We felt safe walking at night to downtown area. The hosts were very responsive to all questions and helped quickly when we couldn’t figure out the AC. We can’t wait to stay again and are already recommending to our friends and family.

Wonderful accommodations in St. Augustine

I was so pleased with my choice of accommodations in St. Augustine. I wanted to stay in the historic district, and this is just a few blocks from all the famous sites of the city. The unit was newly renovated and extremely clean and charming. The host was responsive and easy to reach. I would stay here again if visiting St. Augustine.

Great choice!

This property was a great choice for our family! Comfortable sized unit for the four of us and in the perfect location! Just a short walk to Flagler college(the main reason for our visit) and the historic downtown area, but just far enough to feel like you arent stuck in the middle of everything. Unit was cozy and had a nice hangout area, with grills and bikes, out back close to the parking area. Clear and precise check-in and check-out instructions for parking, key pad etc. Easy communication with owner/property manager

Perfect Location for sightseeing!

Charming old house comes with all of the quirks you would expect like sloping floors! The remodel is beautiful. The kitchen is a tight galley but has everything you need. However hot water is very slow to come to kitchen sink. Hint run the shower for a few minutes and you will get hot water to kitchen. The shower has outstanding water pressure but must be a small water heater as it runs out fast and needs finish work at the top of the tile where pieces of painters tape is still there. There is NO hot water to the bathroom sink at all. It was never hooked up which means no way to shave or wash your face with only ice cold water. I do not understand how the owners or cleaners do not know of these issues. For all of the guests that are used to standard cable TV you will be VERY disappointed. It is just too weird to explain what it is and how to use it. Basically it sucks. The three main issues that need to be fixed is the drafty front door(s), lack of info on how to operate heat/air conditioner (I was lucky because I have one at home) and what appears to be mold in the bedroom on the exterior wall ac unit. I covered the ac unit with a towel as the unit is only 3 feet from the bed. If that is not mold on the unit then it is pure filth and you need to replace your cleaning person for not doing a good job. The parking space for unit #2 is impossible for a SUV to get in and out of. My SUV has "eyesight" and all of it warning alarms were screaming accident pending. After much effort we were able to get out of the very tight area, without damage to my SUV, and park in the alternative parking area next door, where because of walking the town is so easy we were able to leave the car for the 3 nights stay. The back yard is perfect with seating, tables and grill. If this review seems like I am being picky it is because I also have a home on this rental site for many years and always check after renters leave and cleaners are finished to make sure everything is perfect for my next guests. We also meet and greet each guest to introduce and inform our guests as to how best to enjoy our home and welcome them to the area. That is something the owners should consider here to improve the guests stay and avoid a review like this. For me the guests stay in my home is most important to me. A vacation is something that is planned for and looked forward to and an exciting time for my guests and should never cause them concerns. Before you rent here ask if all is fixed.

2 night stay in St Augustine

We booked our stay here based on proximity to downtown. It was a short 10 minute walk there. Check in was easy. When we checked in there a person staining the back deck so we weren’t able to use it for a while and then the next day he was back finishing it. The backyard was very charming and we would have liked to have sat on the deck more but due to maintenance we weren’t able to. It would have been nice to know in advance that there was maintenance being done. The unit was very clean with the exception of a few kitchen items…one glass still had lipstick on it from a previous guest so that was a little off putting. But the kitchen was a good size which made cooking enjoyable. Overall we really did like the place, it was cute and comfortable and we would stay there again.
